Tristar Viper .410 Patterning

Finally shot this thing with the 11/16 #9 load.

It only put up 75 in the 10 at 40 yards. I didn't count the 20. Pretty dismal.

I used the factory full. It miked at .380"! That's. 005" tighter than the Sumtoy I have for my old Stevens 555 and .010" tighter than Brileys extra full.

Not sure what the bore is on that gun.

I don't know if I have the stomach for working up another .410!

I am going to shoot it again with a looser choke. I think there may be an error with these chokes?

The MOD that came with this gun mikes at .388" which is still .006" tighter than Comp N Chokes XFull for the .410.

If it don't act right, I may have to get with you.

From what I have seen others shooting I bet your gonna love it when you get find which choke it likes best

Shot the Viper again this morning with a .388" instead of the .380", still with the 11/16 load.

Pattern in 10" went from 75 to 115 at 40 yards.

Not sure where to go from there. Those were "free" flush chokes.

If Briley or Comp N Choke would send me three or four to try and send ones back I don't want it would be OK but I usually wind up spending more than a gun cost on tubes!

Get a .385 Comp N Choke. I got one in today, but my gun is at the gunsmiths getting a trigger job. Is your the G2 turkey .410? I’ve seen some real good patterns with the .385.

From what I have seen a 385-390 is the ticket for TSS!

Yep after seeing a buddy shoot his with the CNC 385 I've got one otw. He got 151 in the 10 with 9.5s.

I shot my new CNC .385" which miked an actual .3875" with the 13/16 #9 load at 40 yards. It put up 113 in the 10.

Will be loading some #9 in firecracker load (1155 fps ) just to see . chobrown has been breaking 200 real regularly in his mossy . may have to HELP HIM out a few shots and see if mine can hang with his and be able to go straight 9's across the board . well maybe some 8's or 8/9 blends for the 12 ga for public land or out of state hunting. Where I'm still angry at em....LOL
