My newly remodeled 870 20 gauge
Here is my newly remodeled 870 20 gauge setup for gobbler thumping. This gun started life as a 870 youth 20 gauge from Wal-Mart for 307 dollars.
List of upgrades-
-Boyds Sterling thumbhole and forend in forest camo laminate
-Remington 26 inch replacement barrel ( I just am fond of longer barrels, I know this is not the norm, but I think they are much more consistent in my experience)
-Gold trigger plate assembly with a 3 lb sear spring from Remington (I just have a liking to gold triggers for some reason)
-Aimtech ASM-220 saddle mount
-Vortex Venom 3 MOA reflex red dot sight (these are much nicer than Fastfire 3's because of the dot adjustability- manual brightness option is very nice)
It will be wearing more than likely a Pure Gold .570 tempest choke shooting a 1 5/8 ounce handload of TSS 9s. I have high hopes for this gun, and I do think it will be a solid setup.
Next up is my 870 .410 which will essentially be a mirror of this gun with different colored Boyd's stocks.
Thanks for looking.

Very nice
I love a 26" Lord knows how many reminders 20s I've patterned, but the 26 are easier to get good patterns. Lil ones seem to be so finicky most of the time.

Nice looking rig, Jeremy.. Well done, my friend!
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

Re: My newly remodeled 870 20 gauge
I really like the Boyd's stocks. They fit me fit well and they are super nice looking as well. Every 870 I have will be wearing one.
20 gauge got the forest camo laminate- green, brown, gray
.410 will get the nutmeg laminate- brown and black
28 gauge will get coyote laminate- brown, tan, natural
12 gauge will get pepper laminate- gray and black
I'm really anxious to see the 28 gauge in the coyote. I think it will really be sweet.
Thanks for the comments guys, I really appreciate it.

Nice set up
Does Boyd’s have a ambidextrous stock?

I don't think they do anything ambidextrous as far as a shotgun other than just normal style stocks. Nothing like the Remington shurshot platform.
They do offer some ambidextrous options for rifles, just never seen any for shotguns.

Awesome looking gun! That BOYD forearm and stock is sharp! Just curious... how much weight does it add compared to composite/plastic?

The forend doesn't add any weight at all.......but, the buttstock compared to a shurshot stock adds about a half a pound. Definitely heavier........that can be a deal breaker for some. But, I like it!
