Re: Tell Me why OR why you dont like your Weatherby SA-08
I don't own one, but I came dang close to picking one up last year. It was the deluxe model in 20ga. It felt and shouldered nice, and the price was good, too.

I own one and hunted with it a couple of years. Never gave me anything but good results. I was going to dip it and put a pistol grip on it but decided to just buy a 459, and convert the SA-08 back to a bird hunting shotgun. I plan to hunt dove and pheasant with it.

I have the synthetic sa-08 20. The trigger is a little heavy with lots of slack and the forearm looks about 4 inches longer than my eyes would like. It shot to the left and low so I added a Williams universal sight. Bought clamp on gobbler dot at first and it would move. I like it for doves much better than for turkey hunting. I am going to buy 870 compact pump soon.

I've got the SA459, so the same action. I've also shot the SA08 a bit at skeet.
I like the 459, but this is only my second season with it. It's functioned 100% with every load I've tested out of it from turkey loads to cheap lead loads. The trigger is heavy, but that's pretty common for a shotgun these days. One of the things I'm going to watch out for is it seems it has a weakish return spring, IE the bolt is a bit sluggish going home when loading it, but it slams home just fine when firing. That's probably not going to be that big a deal, I just know from experience that autos that seem kind of weak in that respect are usually the first to go down when it gets dusty out. The light weight of the gun is great.

The 2015 model (back when I looked last) was only rated for a max of 1 1/4 oz shot.
I wanted to shoot the 1.5 oz so i went with an SX3.

Had my 20 ga for six years. Lots of dead gobblers in six years. No issues. My trigger has been fine.
The spring has been weak before but only once. I called Sure Cycle and they said they would hook me up if I need a different spring.

I have shot a steady diet of 1 5/8 oz shells out of mine without issue.

Oh one thing I did when I first got mine was to shoot 2 boxes of high brass field loads out of it as fast as I could pull the trigger and reload it. I read on several forums that this was required to get it to cycle properly. It did hag up a few times part way thru the first box, but smoothed out and never faltered into the second box, or after that at all.

They made the gun until this year in an Upland model w/ flat finish on the wood/matte finish on all metal surfaces. Nice handling/pointing 20 gauge (26" and 28" barrel) still available on Gun Broker.
Re: Tell Me why OR why you dont like your Weatherby SA-08
I have a 28ga and have shot hundreds of ducks and doves with it over the last 4 years. It is my most used gun for the last 3 years. Fit and finish is good, the balance for me is excellent, and except a couple shells where the brass was not sized, it has given me zero trouble. The only downside is I hate Weatherby customer service. They are horrible and I will never buy another Weatherby because of them. Save some money and buy the tristar viper g2, same gun made at the same factory and a little bit cheaper with better customer service in my limited experience.
