Base for a mueller quik shot

Post by PAGobblergetter »

Just curious what base you guys are using for the mueller quik shot sights? I'm going to be having a New England arms 410 drilled and tapped to mount the sight but wasn't sure what base to go with ??

I also used the 336 base on my Remington 870 20 gauge when I mounted the QuickShot.

I used a B-Square Rib Mount to mount the Quick Shot to my Affinity.

]I bought cheap $10 Redfield 2 piece bases from a local cabelas to put on a youth 870 20 gauge. locked it down in a vise on a drill press, Measured the hole spacing to match that of a factory 870 12 ga spacing in case it didn't hold I could switch to more expensive one piece base. Drilled and tapped to 6-48 in case that didn't hold, i could go to a 8-40 ( you can see i was skeptical of durability)..., I hate aluminum anything in the optics department, but the 6-48 2 piece $10 bases are holding like a rock! it being two piece if i want to go with a dot sight ill take the front piece off plug the holes and use the rear mount.
