Benelli Ethos 28ga

Post by HartClemson99 »

Gents,
I have a good buddy that bought a Benelli Ethos 28ga. He wants to shoot Apex TSS 9.5s (he doesn't handload). Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket choke tubes available yet for this gun? I told him that the factory full would probably shoot fine, but he is interested in all options.

Thanks!

Hart

IndianCreek is making tubes right now for 28ga and should be available in a couple months

I got one for my Browning BPS 28ga. I don’t think they have made one yet for the Benelli 28ga.

Hart, does the Ethos accept crio plus? I know Trulock makes an XF in 28 crio plus. Carlson’s and Briley probably do as well. Somebody on here had some Benelli 28 patterns a couple months back, can’t rember who, that were overly tight (for me) with the factory full. It was very impressive. It wasn’t the Ethos, but I believe he settled on an IM or M. I’d try the full.

I'm not exactly sure if it's the Crio or Crio Plus. Everything I can find on Benelli's website says it's the Crio and the American Hunter review of it says the same:
https://www.benelliusa.com/ethos-shotgun
https://www.americanhunter.org/articles ... ge-3-inch/

Regardless, the posts you posted are a big help! I think he is going to send the barrel to Indian Creek and see if they can build him one and then test the factory tubes as well. I'm sure between now and Florida's opener he will have a turkey killer!

I'm not sure if it has the Crio or Crio Plus as Crio Plus isn't even listed on Benelli's website, but both Benelli and an American Hunter review says it uses the Crio system. Regardless, he is going to send the barrel to Indian Creek and have them make a choke. Between the factory chokes and what IC does, I'm sure he will have a turkey killer before he hunts opening day of Florida next spring. Thanks for the posts as it looks like these Benelli 28 gauges pattern great with the factory chokes!
