A 28ga is not a turkey gun!

I had the pleasure of attending a Whitetails Unlimited Banquet last Saturday and at one of the games the first lucky winner had a choice of a Henry Golden Boy or a 28ga O/U of some sorts. The gent taking the money asked if I was a wingshooter and I told him I have done a bit of it but... "Oh, you must be after the Henry" he said. I replied by telling him that the Henry was nice but I intended to hunt turkeys with the O/U if I won that. He snickered and said, "that's not a turkey gun, it's a 28!" I gave him a little grin and told him that I was sure that I could make that gun kill turkeys. He was still shaking his head as I slowly walked away looking at other items. I bet he got some good laughs with his buddies after that encounter and I couldn't be happier for him if he actually did

Apparently he has never heard of TSS

Even though I didn't wind up totin' the Henry or O/U home, I did manage to win a Ruger 10-22 Takedown!

I always enjoy the looks I get when someone asks me about my turkey gun, and I get to tell em I shoot a 28.

As a newbie to TSS and small bore turkey guns, this was my first experience with a non-believer. I'm sure there will be many more but this first one was special

Unfortunately, nothing smaller than 8s can be used for turkeys in NY.
Bad news for me but good news for Hal since I'll be placing another order of both since I can use the 9s in other states.

FWIW, T8's are seriously BAD medicine on a turkey head way out yonder.
