Stevens 555 in .410
I picked up this nice little gun last week and got to put a few rounds through it today. Not the best conditions but I feel it has good potential... and I want to use it next Saturday for the season opener.
26" barrel with inter-changeable chokes, trigger is crisp. The no kick is a big bonus too. Even some decent wood.
Thanks for the look

Very nice rig. Do both barrels shoot the same POA/POI?

Good looking gun. I never seen anybody put there sights that close together.
Re: Stevens 555 in .410
Denny, impressive looking gun. Did you experiment with the rear sight position before settling on it there? Gil

Re: Stevens 555 in .410
014 - that has yet to be determined
TruGlo Magnum Gobble Dot Pro-Series is the sight
As far as the rear sight position, the closer the sight is toward the back for me I noticed I have a better chance of a left and right variance on the front sight. Everything is in focus at the same time and as I get older this works for me as the focal point is in line to the front sight. I once saw a picture of a gun that had the rear sight tight to front one. I thought that was odd but may end up there one day.
Thanks for the compliments everyone!

I just have the factory full and mod full in right now due to time constraints, I sent one of the extras to William at Sumtoy to evaluate and see if he can make a set for me. I sort of doubt I will see them before season if he can make them but my fingers are crossed.

Is that the tighter constriction?
What size shot are u loading?
9's or 9.5's?
Does that little gun have selectable triggers?

Nice rig Denny.....and sweet pattern. I'm always amazed at the .410 TSS patterns.

Nice looking gun, I like the sites you put on your gun, may have to think about adding them to this 28ga if I decide to take it out for turkeys.
I picked up a Stevens 555 28ga a couple months ago. I really like the gun, great triggers, nice wood, and at 4.8lbs, I have a hard time not grabbing it when going for a quick dove shoot. Factory chokes are not good, replaced them with carlson extended chokes.

Well I blew it today, got a little impatient and misjudged the distance.GLS wrote:Denny, the gun will do the job. It's now up to you. Gil
My field distance judging is not very good, LOL
Better luck tomorrow!
