M2 range time

Post by WV Ridge Reaper »

So picked up this M2 back in July from a fellar from PA,hell of a nice guy...It's always been my "dream gun".Ol lady said happy anniversary send it to get dipped. So I sent it to Mr Rob Roberts,he done a hell of a job on the dip.No barrel work is done to the gun.

Tried 7 different chokes Saturday..It was really really humid..Only shell I shot was Longbeard 6s..because I'm a believer, gun has a 21 inch barrel and I was told by few people I would be hard pressed to break 200...So those people was wrong.

The only chokes worth talking about was the IC 665 and the Sumtoy 650...I understand this pattern is way off but that has been taken care of.It keep shooting high and left,I adjusted it this evening.I will check it again when the weather cools down and I get more targets.

But I'm really really pleased with this gun

Very nice! LB's produce some impressive patterns. Who woulda thunk it, 200+ with 3" lead. I think you would've had a few more if you moved your circle up on the Sumtoy pattern.
How bout a pic of that Rob Roberts dip job.

Indeed, that IC surprised me...I need to throw my circle on there and do another count like the IC target.

Here's a few pics...Like I said before Rob my be $20 higher but the gun is dipped right and looks like it should..I had a really bad experience with color and camo, you can see there shatty work on the Mossberg.

That looks good. He did a fine job. I see you also got one of Rob's bolt handles and slammer buttons. I'd like to do that on my SBE2, but I'm not gonna ship my gun just for a bolt closure button. I did the installation myself on my Extrema 2, nothing to it if you have the right tools, which I did not......but a paper clip subbed in nicely.

Yea I understand what you mean..I do like both, especially the slammer button...I like the handle as well but I can almost see it getting snagged on something, sliding the bolt just enough to make it go out of sync...Then when the time comes click and nothing happens.

I will see tho,if that ever does happen it will come off.

Also threw the circle back on the Sumtoy target and it went over 200.

The chokes I tried was
Down and Dirty Hay maker 670
Wrights #3 650
Robs 650 and 655
Sumtoy 650
IC 665
Another choke that came with the gun unsure of the brand.

I'm pretty sure it's gonna snag. I'll give you $25 for it. PM for shipping info. :D

I figured it would, but what you had was already a sho nuff killer, anyway.

That Sumtoy pattern is great as long as POI and POA hold. Aim base of the neck.. Slap the trigger tear is head off.. Where I prefer aim if given the choice..
