I shoot 1&5/8 oz TSS 8.5s over 9s through a 12 ga Beretta 686/ST .675 (Mobil choke) and average 283/196.

Did you try a .665 choke with that load?

I did; it was a ST but with a different layout. I tried a .665 and .680 with William's standard layout with wad catchers. The ST .675 that I settled on is his waterfowl layout (if memory serves) without wad catchers. It performed the best with that load in my gun, YMMV.

Thanks for the info. I'll be patterning the Federal TSS 12 gauge 1.75 oz #9's thru this combination and hoping for 300+ in the 10" circle @ 40 yards.

This combo does 347/192 with 1&5/8 oz of 371/oz 9s.

I shot my patterns this weekend and the best 10” pellet count @ 40 yards was 264 with a Carlson’s .665 Non ported Turkey. Tried a .675 Terror choke and was only able to get 205 in the 10”.

What choke tube was the 264?
