Browning 10ga Gold.
Re: Browning 10ga Gold.
I always wanted to try a 10, but am afraid of the kick

No worse than a 12ga. 3 1/2”. Maybe even a little less. It is a healthy whallop, nonetheless!
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

I bet my old wood stock SP-10 kicks less than my light 870 Youth Model 20ga. It weighs a ton so it’s not terrible.Roy wrote:I always wanted to try a 10, but am afraid of the kick

Re: Browning 10ga Gold.
Anything that’s gas operated will definitely kick less than one that isn’t. I have a Benelli SBE in 12ga. and a Browning BPS IN 10ga. They both will kick the heck out of you but I believe the 3 1/2” 12ga. hurts you worse. The Benelli is recoiled operated.

Re: Browning 10ga Gold.
I have shot both my Browning Gold 10 and my Beretta A400 Extreme Plus on the same pattern outing. 10ga load was 2oz of TSS at (supposedly 1250fps). 12ga load was 1 5/8oz TSS and about the same fps. The felt recoil of the 12ga was a little bit sharper, but not greater.
Another interesting item: I have shot four rounds of skeet with the Beretta A400 using my 3/4oz of #9Pb @ 1250fps. Ejected and fed rounds perfectly. On doubles it occasionally would cycle and feed the 2nd round but the bolt would open and not remain open. So I am probably very close to the minimum handholds the gun will operate properly.
