Re: Sunday hunting hits dead end in house
You're right on the one hand...I shouldn't have used the word "discrimination." That's all I'm saying. No one's rights are violated. No one has been discriminated against. Nobody here is a victim. It's a bogus position to take to try and bring the 1st amendment or "separation of chur...

Re: Sunday hunting hits dead end in house
Hal, you've missed my point. I'm not debating whether a state has the right to set laws. Of course they do, and I abide by whatever rules they choose. But, basing those rules on religious reasons (as the old "blue laws" are), as opposed to being based on proper game management reasons, is...

Re: Sunday hunting hits dead end in house
Please do not go putting words in my mouth or convoluting what I stated to suit your purpose. I absolutely believe in reasonable laws that protect our wildlife, manage hunting properly, and are based on sound wildlife management principles. States are granted the right by the federal government to ...

Re: Sunday hunting hits dead end in house
You know, the more I read this topic and think on it, I'm starting to think SC has it right. I do think the states have the right to restrict Sunday hunting on State Game Lands and Federal Game Lands, but they shouldn't tell a man who owns his own land that he can't hunt it on Sunday. :dontknow: Of...

None taken Hal. I was wrong it was the 4 th commandment for the Keeping the Sabbath Holy. I see why you were laughing. You were talking about no coveting. I thought I may have offended you. It is good to see I did not. It's all good brother! But I'm talking about this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

Re: Sunday hunting hits dead end in house
I would think that the laws governing the noon and 1pm deadlines as well as season dates are taking proper game management into consideration. I do not see that being the case with a no hunting on Sunday law. So, if VA changes the law that we can hunt Sunday morning, but not Sunday afternoon, you h...

I would think that the laws governing the noon and 1pm deadlines as well as season dates are taking proper game management into consideration. I do not see that being the case with a no hunting on Sunday law. None of that matters. We have no right to hunt -- except during the legal times as dictate...

Re: Sunday hunting hits dead end in house
So, why is it that people who share those beliefs insist on imposing those limitations on me, and dictate whether or not I find my own solace and inspiration in my time afield, and hunting??? The 10th amendment maybe? With all due respect, I think it's a good thing that each state can pass their ow...

Re: Thinking About!
 I was an allstate catcher back in the day, and catchers have to be able to throw with the best of them. Of course that was 10 surgeries ago. If I can't get a good pattern with the rocks I'll just use a stick. Hmmmm, if you use a stick with denser wood, ah never mind ya'll don't take anything ...

It's not the size of the rock, it's the energy delivered by the rock factored in with your chances of hitting him in the head with however many you can fit in your hand at one time. In that case I guess I might go with a mixed handfull of marble size and golf ball size. Depends on how hard yo...

Re: Sunday hunting hits dead end in house
Well, I know that this has upset a lot of people, but my feelings aren't hurt. I'm not trying to stir things up, but I did like the statement at the end of the article. “I think it should be a day of rest, a day of worship, a day to spend with the family,” Wright said. This is how I feel, but that'...

Folks in FL have made a lot of money off the Grand Slam. Really upped the value of killing an osceola.

Re: Set Up
Some folks like to try to out-think a turkey. I'm not that smart. So I like to keep it simple -- (1) Locate the bird (2) Set up on him (3) Call him to the gun. We were just talking about setting up with the back to the turkey recently, and on Saturday, I found myself set up with my back to the turke...
