I have a couple Weatherby SA08 that I added pistol grips too. Before the SA459. Mine are sweet shooting little guns.

Great weekend.
GA woods were quiet the first two weekends then I was in FL last weekend. I decided to get down in the flood waters in the swamps on public land this weekend. Gates are closed so have to walk the whole property. Traveling light. Just trumpets and mouth calls, no decoys, and two bottles of water. The...

Re: New tent option out there
They actually said there is no need to waterproof it. Their canvas is good for life with out. Went through a 7 inch rain storm the other day. Dry as a bone. Pretty impressed. This one also comes with a heavy rubberized floor for the main tent. The enclosure is open ground. Got a nice heavy tarp for it

Savduck Lanyards, still the best
IMG_20200308_175857.jpg IMG_20200308_175546.jpg I came up with this original design around 10 years ago so I could have a classy looking lanyard hanging around my neck and trumpet. Next closest thing to it was about $200. Out of range for the blue collar guy. Been some copy cat cheap knock offs in ...

Couple guys have inquired about the tent. Have had some huge rain storms the last couple days. Have probably gotten 3 to 5 inches today.

Re: Making sure my camp fire cooking is up to snuff
That looks real good, those long handled frying pans are nice. Campfire food always tastes better, except for a hooded merganser. tired that once on a primitive campout, even hickory coals couldn't save the day on that one. They say cook merganser on a wooden plank. When done throw the merganser aw...

New tent option out there
Have always wanted a nice canvas tent. Kodiak came out with this tent a few months back. Have been waiting for them to deliver it. She showed up Friday so had to set it up. A great option for the traveling hunter.

Get an SA08 Youth model, then order defense shotgun pistol grip straight from Weatherby. I own three weatherby and one Remington. Would much rather have the weatherby.

Re: Trouble with small pallet using mouth calls?
Someone needs to build a narrow frame call. Its what i use. I dont know of anyone that does this. Del, why dont u think about this? I have. A new press and tape cutter is about $2000. Got to sell a PILE of calls at my price to get it. I have another option for about $400. Saving up to go that route...

Del, glad you posted this. So true. I have no idea why. Ralph would be in my top tier as well. Ralph has a great website too. I've been looking at that lignum vitae hex call he has up. That's a beautiful cocobolo 1940 you have. I thought I had heard 2nd hand that Ralph wasn't making any more calls ...

Everybody seems to be building trumpets these days and you dont see Ralphs name out there, despite his multiple Turpin awards. I have three top trumpet call makers and he is one of those three. Man he builds a fine call. This was my latest from him. Cocobola 1940.

This turning block just came in today. I found some and snatched it up. Getting harder and harder to find. Like to have a stash for sending off to make custom trumpets.
