Definitely thinking about going back to the Reddot. Gonna look around and see if they make some sort of rubber donut protector though.

But I got the bastard (I think). I've been after this one bird on some public ground for three years. There have Always been closer birds to fill my tag with but this year I went after him pretty hard. He roosts on a giant ridge overlooking a 30 acre meadow and the world belongs to him. I missed him...

Re: Looking for a box call and aluminum pot call
You could always go the "store bought" route & get a Super Aluminator. I've carried 1 for many years & it has helped bring in many birds. Lol, that's what's in my vest right now. I lost the one I really liked and had a spare. Dunno if it's in my head or what but I can't get the ne...

Winchester sx3 longbeard cycling problem
Any other sx3 shooters have this problem? I bought a Winchester sx3 longbeard a couple years ago and I having a hell of a time trying to get it to cycle in the second shell after a shot. I shoot reloaded 3 1/2 inch fiocchis and they eject just fine but it rarely cycles a second shot after the first ...

Re: Winchester SX3 and TSS
Open it up! You need about 70/ 80 of those 10 inch hits in the 20. It'd still be tight enough to kill em as far as TSS will kill, and you'll kill more close birds/birds you would otherwise whiff at because of a rushed shot. I shoot a browning trap special, in my Sx3. It's open at close ranges and a ...

I was thinking about that actually. Kind of a specialty sneak & peak. Never called to one with the intent to keep in him place before. At least not when I was the shootersoiltester wrote:Is that "runnin' & gunnin' ".. or "sneekin' & peekin' " ??

Subordinate Tom got his butt whooped for good
So yesterday I had the day off and told myself that I was going to kill a turkey. Daylight had me face off with a pasture gobbler. He won. At 11:00, I ran into a silent tom. He won. About 3:30 p.m., and after miles under the boots and a nap under a pine tree, I finally happened into two strutters in...

Busted flock and A little afternoon gobbling
Yesterday the wife and I went joy driving on a property I can hunt. Halfway in, a jake or tom hit the road and ran in front of us for about 50 yards. He hit the woods and then another one popped out and ran past where his buddy went another 100 yards and went in the woods on the opposite side. I sto...

Re: Thumb twittling
I've got it bad this year. Even worse then last. Applied for a fall permit draw on a local area last year thinking it would ease the pain a bit but couldn't bring myself to lay the hammer down on the little blueheads staring at me. After that, I spent a week looking for a bachelor flock to no avail....
