Re: ebike for hunting

You can hum this to the tune of Simon and Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence"

Hello Public my old Friend
Some trucks have blocked me in again
E-Bike tires humming everywhere
Walking in the dark I despair,
I am back in as far as I can go
No one knows
There's no gobbling, just silence

Shot a nice one with Jamey's trumpet a couple days ago. Very nice looking and sounding trumpet, gobblers responded well to it over a several day hunt.

Re: field dressing your turkey

I don't but I have thought about it, wouldn't be hard to do. I do leave a chunk of skin attached to the beard so it doesn't dry out and still looks fresh if stopped. One time I got a mite turned around and came out on a woods road far from my truck, a kind soul gave me a ride in the back of his truc...

Re: field dressing your turkey

Does anyone field dress your turkey in the woods after photos, tagging, and such? I'm talkin taking the breast, beard, legs w/spurs & thighs attached,& leaving the remains in the woods. I realize certain states may have different regs on this, but where legal, I'm gonna do it this year so I...

Re: Turkey Hunting With A Handgun

Just today a guy in our muzzleloader club came in 2nd with a Ruger MK 2 in an offhand woods walk shooting match against muzzleloader rifles and .22 rifles. He also turkey hunts, I called him up to ask, he said he'll be sticking with a shotgun. A .22 to the noggin would deck a gobbler, but you have a...

Re: Tacoma

Very sharp looking truck, I've had Toyota trucks since 84, never a bad one. Great color for turkey hunting, when you ride around, gobblers can't see your gun barrel hanging out the window. I have a tundra in this color, first time I paid a little extra to have a truck brought in just to get this col...

Re: Cackle Practice

Very nice, nailed it, sharpness of clucks, tone and cadence

It would be being ultra picky, but where you rise and drop back in the pitch of your tone I have heard turkeys go a little higher in tone before dropping back lower, but all turkeys don't sound the same either.

sounded great
