Re: Mississippi!

Congrats! You have a MUCH better batting avg in MS this year than I do and it's my home state. If I don't run across one this weekend, it'll be my first 0 here since I can remember. :(

I felt that way last year about a certain tube call and mouth call but this year has been a COMPLETE 180!

Re: 16 ga Compact 870 weight

Just weighed both my 870 turkey guns. Each have 21" barrels, synthentic stock/forend, claw sling, Burris 336 mount w/FF2, turkey choke, and 3 shells in mag. The 20 ga weighed 7.12 and 12 ga weighed 8.62. Seems like the weight of your 16 is on par with those considering the difference in stock a...

Re: A Not So Great Memory

Sorry for what had to be a scary experience! That's good advice! I'm OCD enough to weigh each one of my finished shells to make sure there's not a drastic deviation in weight. It only takes a minute or two and the peace of mind is well worth that to me!

I absolutely did not want to read this today! Wow, what terrible news! Scott Hook is the first guy who ever took real one on one time with me on the phone to build some mouth calls (youth frame) to suit me. He could have blown me off but he chose to treat me like we had known each other for years. F...

Re: Glad to be back in Texas!!!

I just got a call from my primary turkey hunting companion who informed me that he has 15 pounds of fresh crawfish coming in tomorrow which must be cooked and eaten tomorrow. Unfortunately for them, fortunately for me, his family is out of town. We're doing an early afternoon boil. YUM!! So when is...

I've got em from the mid 90's til they quit making em. None have been bad for me. The newer ones are less aesthetically appealing but they function just fine.
