NEF Pardner Youth 20
I was going through my safe this weekend and ran across my son’s first shotgun. It is so small that it was well hidden in the back of the safe. I thought it might make a nice little tss gun. Has anyone had any experience with these guns regarding pistol grip stocks, threaded choke barrels, and red d...

Poa / poi question
Can point of impact vary greatly from one load to another? Say, hevi shot load and a tss load. Can they be different enough to miss a turkey at 30 yards? I have helped a friend get started with 20 ga and tss this year and he is having issues. He has killed two turkeys with tss this year. One at 43 y...

Re: Relived some of my childhood tonight
mine was a 67 rally sport camaro, with the hide away headlights, and a 375horse 327. White with black top and interior. I totaled it before I got a driver’s license. 3 local police, 2 county cars and a state trooper pulled up on me after I didn’t make a turn. I have always regretted wrecking that ca...

Re: remington 870 20 gauge indian creek choke
Don't discount the factory full choke until you shoot it with a clean bbl. I was gonna hunt with mine, but a Sumtoy .562 I had turned out slightly better for a hunting pattern. Hal's big 20XL load.

Burris AR332 / free FFIII promotion
Has anyone received their free FFIII yet? If so, how long after paperwork submission to receipt? I sent everything in on April 28. The website says they have received my submission and it is valid, but nothing else.

Re: Looking for a box call and aluminum pot call
Disclaimer: the following is one man's opinion. There are many call makers making very capable box and pot calls in the Southeast. Box call makers have been discussed at length in other posts on this site. I personally use a Billy White Hustlin Hen - because it is an awesome call, but primarily beca...

Re: Prescribed burning
Those are all great reasons that I had always heard. The largest landowner here (Gulf States Paper Company) used be on a two year rotation, but they quit for some reason. Now all of their lease land is pine of all sizes with thicket underneath. You can hunt roads and food plots and that's about it. ...

Prescribed burning
I hunted South Georgia last weekend. On my drive home I noticed virtually every pine plantation was prescribed burned. The practice isn't followed here anywhere close to down there. Anyone have any idea why?

Re: Furthest you have seen a bird fly to get to your calls?
Had one fly across the Tombigbee river in West Alabama (about 300 yards). I was entertaining a buyer that I used to call on as a sales rep. He was the only turkey we heard that morning and he gobbled at everything I did. We stood on one side of the river and I really poured on the sweetness. I didn'...

Great weekend in South Georgia with an old friend!
Hunted Saturday and Sunday morning. We were all able to take turkeys. My friend and his son were not big turkey hunters, but when they figured it out (gotta be still) we got after em pretty good.

M1 Super 90 help please...
The son wants to set up his M1 Super 90 for turkeys. Does anyone know what the best option for a pistol grip stock would be? I have loaded Hal's big 20xl and it works fine in my 870, but it will not cycle in the M1. Does anyone have a good 2 3/4" recipe solution, or do I need to bite the bullet...

Re: Chokes for 870 youth
Shot A Trulock .585, .590, a Sumtoy .562, factory full, Carlson .575, and Indian Creek .555 (again). The IC .555 is just too tight for me to hunt with. To my surprise, the Sumtoy .562 is the choke I will hunt with this year. 40 yards 10" - 170, 10" to 20" 250. Nice even pattern with n...

Curious about value
Several years ago as I travelled through Mississippi on highway 82 I stopped at a small shop in Eupora. They had several styles of scratch boxes and a turtle shell call made by E. O. Mitchell. They gentleman in the shop said the turtle shell call was in the Smithsonian. I purchased two signed sets o...

Re: Chokes for 870 youth
Well, it looks like I am taking a couple steps backward. The IC .555 would not duplicate earlier results in the 10 to 20 today. Best group was 321 / 169. At 20 yards it shoots a group the size of a grapefruit. The tru-glow and Carlson's were not much better (too tight). Best hunting pattern I found ...

Chokes for 870 youth
I started loading tss this year with help from a few of the gentlemen on this forum. I am shooting a youth .870 20 ga. The IC .555 has a hot core, with @330 in the 10" and 200 in 10 to 20. I ordered a Carlson's .575 and a tru-glo .560. The goal is to open the pattern slightly in an effort to ge...

Re: Long story to get to a key question.......ideas?
I'm still sick..... You fellows are probably right. I must have only hit him with the edge of the pattern. This was a turkey that I am certain was a 5 year old. I let my son hunt him (exclusively) the last 2 years. I told him I was going to hunt him this year early because he had every other turkey ...
