Re: I just finished my single shot build.
cool rig, how is the forearm attached? The fore-end on the NEF shotguns is held in with a single screw that goes into a post attached to the barrel. It attaches in the same manner as the factory one. Anyone who decides to use the ATI stocks, be sure to check the threading. The threading on the ATI ...

I just finished my single shot build.
I just completed my compact turkey slayer build yesterday. As a TSS follower, of course I chose a 20 gauge. NEF Pardner 20 gauge, barrel is chopped to 18.5", professionally squared and threaded for RemChokes by the legendary Mike Orlen of Amherst, MA. Very very reasonable prices, I highly recom...

Re: Welp, this is now my ONLY turkey hunting site, LOL
I got booted again from there about 2 months ago and I had not posted anything there for 3 months. I was told that anyone that had ever posted a thread with TSS for sale was banned and deleted. I had never been banned from an online forum and now I have been banned twice from OG. We are prett...

In that (now nuked) thread, it was said by the site owner himself that said person was actively promoting 60, 70, even 100 yard shots!WV Ridge Reaper wrote:I just wanna know who the number one seller of the 9s are cause the fuzz is coming to get you boy!!!

Re: Welp, this is now my ONLY turkey hunting site, LOL
It just really irritates me when people become proponents of banning anything and everything just because it's not something they'd like to do. That's what got us to where we are today in this country. I'm in PA, and we have so-called hunters actively lobbying the legislature to keep the ban on Sund...

Re: Welp, this is now my ONLY turkey hunting site, LOL
My hope is that states will begin to make TSS illegal from some of the things I have read. Doesn't sound like its good for the sport of turkey hunting. Heard allot of the same claims about Nitro when it first became popular. Saw 70,80,90 patterns in hunting stores. Where this is all headed ..rifles...

I kept one foot on the dock and one on the boat for a long time, respecting the rules of both boards... but apparently defending keeping TSS legal (someone said it should be outlawed) on the "other site" is enough to get you banned! Man, they even delete your old posts, your username, ever...

Re: Help! Light strikes on my shotgun... only with 3"
It's the extra chunk of metal that pops up between the hammer and the firing pin so the gun won't go off by dropping the hammer as you partially cock it, or by a sharp strike to the hammer.

Re: Help! Light strikes on my shotgun... only with 3"
Take one of the 3" shells, open it up and let the shot out, trim the hull to same length as shells that are firing and try again. That should let you know if it's a seating issue. The 3" prolly have a magnum primer which is harder. Curious to hear the results of this. He said he did that....

Re: Help! Light strikes on my shotgun... only with 3"
No. No hammer extension. As far as we know, everything is stock. I bought it last year for $100 from a gun shop. Are 3" shell primers generally harder? I don't know why they would be. That's the only thing we can think of. Every 2 3/4" shell he's tried looks like the one on the left. Every...

Re: Help! Light strikes on my shotgun... only with 3"
Yes I cocked back the hammer and gave it a few tries. He did fire my empty Fiocchi hull, it slides in really easy, it did fire but a very light strike. He was surprised it went off at all.

Re: Help! Light strikes on my shotgun... only with 3"
He checked that. Virtually identical. He measured how it sits when dropped in vertically. Virtually the same, maybe a few thousandths difference, not enough to matter. 2 3/4" gives a nice dimple, 3" it's a slight scuff. It's completely different. Mind blown. http://dl.dropboxusercontent.co...

Re: Help! Light strikes on my shotgun... only with 3"
It's at my gunsmith's now. I'll ask him.
Dove loads worked for me. My 3" Fiocchi hulls with Big 20 XL don't work at all. The gunsmith has 3" Remington Nitros. They don't work. 2 3/4" shells he has DO work.
Really strange.

Help! Light strikes on my shotgun... only with 3"
My 18.5" NEF 20 gauge project gun was working great, I had shot several shells through it both 3" and 2 3/4" and they worked fine. I patterned it, and wanted to do a deep clean. I took it apart, and polished the barrel. I used an empty hull as a chamber guide to protect the chamber. I...

Re: Decoys
I just got a jake/hen pair of the Montana 3Ds. So far I really like them. I had 3 hens feeding 30 yards away from them in the field today and they didn't shy away, which is a good thing. They're not DSDs, but they don't have to be to work, and I'd rather have some dekes in my vest than wish I hadn't...

My superlight portable shooting bipod.
My son is 12 and really benefits from having a solid rest, especially with the tight TSS patterns his gun shoots. Through the years, we started with a FieldPod, then moved to a lighter weight BogPod. Now that he is doing more running and gunning with me, he wanted a rest but we didn't want to carry ...
