My bird was taken with a Remington 870 with a camo wrap. Choke from Sum Toy.

Here is the 870 youth model, in 16 gauge. Another option is to buy an older Wing Master and have the barrel done to your favorite spec.
Good luck with your search.... Lots of SxS and model 12's out there.

Re: 16 gauge suggestions

I like the 870 youth model. They are not easy to find, but if you find one, they are compact ( 23" barrel ) and come with Rem choke. You can then add a .610 or .630 Trulock choke. The 870 Express is a little easier to find, but has a longer barrel. As far as a semi, I also have an 1100, in 16 g...

May 1 bird in New York. My first turkey with my 410. TSS #9 dropped him in his tracks at 32 yards.

This completes my all gauge slam. Well, not really, because I have not and don't intend to use a 10 gauge.

Re: 16 Gauge Club

Thanks. Not sure the .630 is the best set up for my gun. Results are average, just not as impressive as some of the other sub gauge ( 20 & 28 ) targets that I have shot. Sure can't complain with today's field performance! Now, on to the 410 bore.

Re: 16 Gauge Club

Well the 16 gauge got to bark this morning. Today is only our second day in PA. Saturday was very windy with gust over 50 mph. This morning was beautiful, no wind and light frost. Struck this bird about 10:30, so far away that I couldn't be sure it was a real gobble. Took about 45 minutes to get him...

Very happy to see you are doing this. I load everything except 10 gauge. If I decide to hunt a bird with the big cannon, I will be calling you. On the opposite end of the scale, do you offer # 10's in your 410 load?

Re: The Original Treebark

Love that pattern. I got my first TREBARK back around 1990. It was my first piece of camo that wasn't Army Woodland. It worked great in the North Carolina mountains, which were full of Poplar trees. Jim broke the paradigm when it comes to modern camo.

Re: feet, knees and butts

I stopped wearing a vest, last year. If I know that I am going to do a lot of walking, I carry one of the small foam pads. On the days that I hunt small properties and food plots, I carry a Primos " low" chair. It sure makes long sits more comfortable.

Re: 16 Gauge Club

I have both the 1 9/16 and the 1 7/8 loads to test. I shot the lighter load last year and it did well on paper. Was going to try them today, but the 45 mph wind did not let up.

Hoping to put a notch in the 16 gauge this year. I found a 870 Express, youth model with a 23" barrel. Have a .630 tube on the way and some #9 TSS, ready to test. April sure seems far away.....

Re: After all these years

Which tool? From what I see, it is for seating the wad.

The 20 will do just fine! And you will enjoy the lighter weight while climbing those ski slopes at Beech, Sugar, App and Seven Devils.....
