Re: AT3 Tactical???

Well the scope seems to be good hold zero shot to shot, the sight window is a little small but it is still a nice sight. Good deal. I bought a RD50 and it is a solid sight. There's a YouTube video where a guy puts one thru a torture test. If the sight can handle that (and it did) it can handle anyt...

IDK about issues. Brass shell has more room than you can fill up.

370NM has 370 grains of shot slightly less than 78NM.

.410 hand loads

Loaded a few .410 shells for the first time the other day and they are finicky little fellers. Loaded Hal's 13/16 and 370NM. Spilled shot (9.5's) out of two of them while loading lol not good.. little shot all over the table and floor. Ordered 410 nitro cards thinking I'd use them over powder...wron...

Re: Anybody using standard chokes with TSS?

You should be fine with factory chokes. I don't have pictures available but have shot hand loads thru factory flush mounts full & ex-full in 20ga and 12ga and they produce very good hunting patterns.
More open at close-in distances like you're referring to.

Re: Cheap red dot options

just mounted the AT3 RD50 on my 301 410, mounts solid and has a bright crisp dot and has a lifetime transferable warranty. Field of view may be a little small but they seem to be a great company. The cheap on optics is a weird thing ive had to send back Leupold Vari x 3's and they bought as good as...

Went with the AT3 Tactical RD-50. It has great reviews and is an extremely tough little sight with a great warranty and specs.
Guess I'll find out for myself how gobblers react to the front red lens.

Are you cleaning the barrel between shots? I normally run a bore snake thru mine between shots.
POI may move a little but changing 12" is odd.

Re: Cheap red dot options

Thanks for the feedback men, lots of good options. I was reluctant to us the word "cheap" because I don't want a cheaply built sight I guess inexpensive is a better word. I'm probably thinking too much about the front red lens on the TRS25, but many red dots have them and many a gobbler ha...

Cheap red dot options

Looking for a decent red dot for $100 or less. It will be going on a new Stevens .410. Leaning towards Bushnell TRS25 or a Mueller quick shot. My concern with the Bushnell is the front lens is red and may spoon a gobbler. Anybody using the TRS25 have any issues? Already have a Vortex Venom on an 870...

Re: New Stevens 301 Turkey .410

Bought a 301 (mossy oak obsession) Saturday at Academy. No shops around me have had any.
Thought I'd check out Academy again and one had just come in they hadn't put it on display yet. That was the only one they had.
Pretty sweet little gun. Lot's of features for the price.

Re: Caldwell Lead Sled concerns?

Follow up question. The newer Caldwell lead sleds have a skeletonized front rest versus the bag on the older models. I've read that the new front rests are narrow (Lead sled 3 and DFT2) and some shotguns forends don't fit in them well. Anyone with the newer front rest have this happen? Is it an issu...

Re: Caldwell Lead Sled concerns?

Not that it's any of my business, but you can just make a bag of sand or whatever instead of buying a bag of shot. I have even used a couple 10lb weights from a weight room. Yeah several options for weight e.g. sand bags, weights, lead shot etc..lead shot bags are supposed to absorb recoil better t...

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like no issues if you use them right. Probably gonna order a leadsled DFT2 and 15lb lead shot bag for weight.

Caldwell Lead Sled concerns?

Hey guys, Does anyone use a lead sled for sighting in your turkey gun or testing new loads especially using a red dot? I've used the Primos group therapy rest the past few years but the piece that holds the butt stock broke so it's done. Going to use a Vortex Venom this year for the first time and r...

I don't own a Henry 410 single shot but saw some information on one and they look well made.
Nice wood and comes standard with screw in chokes. Not a cheap gun.
The little single is listed at 6.55lbs. The weight may be a deal breaker for some but a sweet looking gun.
