Re: Turkey tags/permits
I remember my first tag was in 1979 in Michigan. Prior to that time you had a better chance of hitting the powerball lottery. Now in southern Michigan you don't need to apply, although I still do ,because there are always leftover tags for under subscribed area. For the most part however these are p...

The ground was so frozen he had to poop with one leg in the air to keep from freezing his paws. Spring can't get her soon enough. So hows the weather whe...

Recently purchased a Ruger American in .350 Legend for the limited firearms zone in southern Mi. The dealer recommended Winchester Deer Season ammo. I bought 4 boxes and they shoot great out of the new rifle. However I found a round in one of the boxes that was really messed up,for lack of a better ...

Not sure of the particulars ,but beginning in January here in Michigan private sales / transfers of firearms will require a background check. I can't give or sell my firearms to my own brother without it.

The two main places I hunt are overrun with turkeys. The farm I hunt in SE MI. is overrun with coons too. No money in pelts anymore .Spuriosity wrote: ↑November 7th, 2023, 6:42 am And kill raccoons. I kill about a dozen a year on my 50 acres and they just keep on coming.

Re: 350 Legend
As MFL205 stated, this is not a 200+ yard gun. But in the woodlots and fields of traditionally shotgun only areas this caliber shines. A couple years ago Michigan started allowing the use of some straight wall cartridges in what was our restricted to slugs only zone.Roughly dividing the state in to...

350 Legend
After my latest surgery for a retina tear I decided to cut down on recoil . Traded off the 450 Bushmaster and my slug gun . The 350 is listed at 7 ft. Lbs. of felt recoil . Along with my .257 Bob I think im good to go.

Re: Foot pounds of felt recoil ?
Data you need to know is projectile weight, powder weight, gun weight, and velocity. Assuming 9 pound gun, 300 grain bullet, 100 grains powder, 1750 fps - 37 ft-lbs If you shoot the 250 gr Barnes - a little less. If your gun weighs less than 9 pounds - a little more. Thanks Spur. That seems like a ...

Foot pounds of felt recoil ?
As previously posted. I am once again recovering from retina surgery . With previous surgeries I decided to download the 30 06 for deer as well as downloading for turkeys . The main reason I switched to a 20ga. From the 12. This year I plan on using my .257 Roberts for deer . 9 ftlbs as compared to ...

Mend up quick, and enjoy your time in the woods. What caused the tear if you don’t mind the question ? Not sure what caused it the first time. Pre 2003.They put in what they call a buckle. Since then its been cataracts in both eyes with lens replacements. I was good to go until I fell in 2003. Frac...

Another season ruined by torn retina . Surgery on Thursday. Ar least I should be able to gun hunt come Nov. 15th . Probably use the .257 Roberts for reduced recoil .

Re: Seat Organizers
I like it,but I can't use it in Michigan. If our firearms are in the cab they have to be in a gun case . Even then if the DNR stops you they try to tell you firearms have to be in the trunk or bed regardless of what the rule book says.
