I've mounted several ff3's that way. Didn't use the whole base but rather cut it off shorter and mounted the ff3 ahead of the receiver. Basically just eliminated the cantilever part. Works perfect that way.

Re: shooting to the right

The mossy choke design is likely the problem. The threads on the mossy choke are well below the end of the barrel and it can end up off center and different each time you install the choke. I solved this problem on my choke (mossy 20, IC 555) by adding one wrap of electrical tape around the choke tu...

Re: Supressors legal in Georgia passes Senate

I'm not aware of any resident requirement and as far as I know as long as the suppressor is legal and you have landowner permission you can hunt deer with them. Georgia Carry Org. will be providing descriptive info on what the new law actually allows before July 1 and I will know more once I read th...

Re: Supressors legal in Georgia passes Senate

Old link to legislation that did not pass. SB 93 was trashed in favor of HB 60 which passed and was signed by our Governor a few days ago...goes into effect July 1. I placed many phone calls and emails to my reps trying to get this passed. The new bill is the one you have been seeing on the news abo...

Re: Any mushrooms yet?

I've found morrels from WI to SC and most anywhere I've turkey hunted in between but as far as I can tell they don't grow down this far south in SW GA so I have to travel to find them.

Re: 28 ga. & .410 turkeys

No they come with the rail mount in the link above. The plates are thin and pass completely under the rib and have a tapped hole sticking out on either side. The fire sight mounting is different in that it clamps in from either side but does not pass through. This setup is very solid...especially fo...

Re: 28 ga. & .410 turkeys

Thanks guys. The gun is a Tristar. Has Briley turkey chokes installed. Uses mobil chokes. The mount is one of these that I modified by cutting it off just long enough for the FF to fit on and attached to the rib. It attaches by two small plates that slip under the rib and the picatinny screws down t...

Re: 20ga Mossberg Choketube question

I know what Fed says about ported chokes but I get very good patterns out of my super bantam with a Indian Creek 555 and Fed HW 7's. Averages in the 170's at 40.

I haven't tried either of the chokes you asked about though.

Re: 12ga 20ga TSS question

For some reason many if not most folks think the a 12ga is "more powerful" than a 20. Granted the 12 can hold more payload and therefore by default kill farther due to pattern density, but they all shoot the pellets they have with the same "power".

Re: Any Opinions? Just Curious...Not being a Smart *

Has anyone checked the size of the pellets yet? Hard to believe lead is patterning at 65% in a 10". This only leaves 150ish pellets for 20" circle assuming that 100% of the pattern is inside of the 20" circle. It has to produce slug like patterns at close ranges. Gonna be a lot of &q...

Re: Walkers Game Ear?

I got the muffs and used them during deer season. I was mainly looking for hearing protection. They can get in the way a bit, but they were tolerable. I will take them out this spring to see how they work in the turkey woods. Where I deer hunt, it's mainly fields, apple trees....etc. I have really ...

Not counting a few shots at fleeing birds someone else had missed already I have missed only 3 that I can remember. Been hunting them since the mid 70's but haven't taken many questionable shots over the years and those 3 that I missed were pretty close and moved at just the wrong (or right for them...

Wow that gun right there would really throw a wrench in those folks plans or claims they have killed a turkey with every gauge.. already wrenched, a .410 is a caliber not a guage. It's also known as a 36 gauge...even says so right on the box of shells. Mostly called a 410 in the US but is a 3...

Before you buy you really should look at the muffs made by Howard leight. I have both and these are way less expensive and to me the sound quality is better than the Walkers.

I hate it.

I feel a responsibility as a hunter and gun owner to present the best image I can to the anti gun/hunting crowd and this crap makes us look like idiots IMO.

How can we expect to be taken seriously of we accept this foolishness?

Re: Can't

My 20g tss loads cost me less than $6 each to load.

Also, even if you don't shoot tss you are shooting something that you had to pay for, and when you deduct that cost the actual difference is likely less than $3 per shell...
