My 2015 Osceola Gobbler
This is by far the largest Osceola gobbler that I have ever harvested. I was hunting in Volusia County, FL. on the morning of March 26, 2015. We had hunted this bird pretty hard for 2 mornings and after hen interference at fly-down I decided to give him a break and go after another gobbling tom. Wel...

Re: the most effective close-in call?
For me it's always been lightly scratching the leaves next to you, it's easy and sounds just like a hen looking for food! Drives gobbler's crazy and they almost always come looking.....give it a try!

Finally a Pennsylvania gobbler met up with some Hevi-Shot!!
Got this gobbler yesterday morning in NEPA. The gobbling here has been horrible. A few on the roost and when they hit the ground, they shut-up, been that way for a week now. Heard this bird at 6:30 and he would not come to the call, just walked away. Circled way out around him and waited, he walked ...

I hunted with AA Outfitters this spring in Clarendon, TX. Hundreds of birds, great accomodations, great food.....Ken and Roseann Mayer are the owners and have excellent Rio leases. All private land!!!

Re: Bearded hens
I would shoot a bearded hen only in the fall. During the spring season she is probably already on a nest...these wacky game departments need to specify bearded gobblers only, not bearded turkeys. If a hunter cant tell the difference between an gobbler or a hen they shouldnt be in the woods!

Texas Gobbler
Shot this Rio Grande gobbler this past Thursday morning. I was hunting in Donley County, TX. near the town of Clarendon. I was hunting with AA Outfitters as I am from Pennsylvania and needed the assistance of a capable guide. This Outfitter is top notch A+++. Plenty of birds, great food, great lodgi...

.410 for turkey hunting
Hello all: I've killed a large amount of turkeys in my life, both with firearms and a bow. I'm currently on my second Grand Slam. What I'd like to know is what is the best .410 shotgun out there....I'd like to now collect another Grand Slam using this weapon. To me the thrill of the hunt is calling ...

You have been given the wrong information!!! In NY the limit on shotshells in you gun is three (3)......you must plug your gun to limit the capacity!

Re: Pennsylvania tomorrow morning......
Well we were out this morning (Tuesday)...no gobbling from the roost although we heard a few hens. At 7am all hell broke loose. I made a series of calls and two gobblers started gobbling like crazy and racing towards us along with 6 hens. At 15 yards they stopped and went into strut. My step-daughte...

Pennsylvania tomorrow morning......

Re: Central FL Osceola questions
I would say it's next to impossible to find an adequate place to hunt private land unless you know someone there. I was fortunate to locate a parcel in Volusia County and hunted it hard for two years without any success. I used an outfitter this past spring and killed a beautiful Osceola gobbler on ...

Would you say that these chokes will make a DEFINITE improvement in patterns? I currently shoot a Kick's choke tube from my Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag and the pattern's are just not there as expected. I shoot Federal 3 1/2" magnum #6 shot, flite control wad....coppercoated, buffered shot

Pennsylvania Monday morning
After torrential rain last evening I was out at 5:15 this morning. Gobbling was very slow as I heard only two gobbler's on the roost. After flydown the tom's went away from me with their hen's. I called every 15-20 minutes when I was cut-off by a hen. I got her fired up and she was coming toward me ...

Pennsylvania Youth Season
I was fortunate to call in this fine gobbler for my friend's son. It is his FIRST turkey, ever!. The gobbling action was very intense this morning in Northeastern Wayne County. We heard three gobbler's on the roost and shortly after fly-down this gobbler came strutting in to 25 yards. The rest is hi...
