Re: The call
How often do you kill or call in a gobbler and positively attribute success to the actual "sound" of the call.. Whereas you tried others but when you struck this device the whole game changed.. Do you believe the success was only a result of the sound of this device or the gobbler finally...

Re: Tube Lovers
Several years ago, Perfection Turkey Calls partnered with Wayne Carlton to produce a tube call that would hold a mouth call for the reeds. Virginia double
Doubled up with my son on a beautiful morning in Virginia today. After a couple of unsuccessful set-ups earlier in the morning we got a response from this pair around 9:45. After repositioning twice, we finally got them coming our way along the edge of a pasture, gobbling only to the wingbone call. ...

Re: Where does it go from here?
The top level callers sound so realistic now that it's hard to imagine it getting a whole lot better. Very True, but then there is this I believe that there are nuances in a live hen's yelping that a gobbler hears and reacts to that we cannot imitate with any call. Diaphragm mouth calls come close,...

Re: Where does it go from here?
I think it's gotten to the point now, with the blinds, the realistic decoys that have motion and long range loads, calling isn't really needed to kill a turkey. If a hunter can be successful that way, will they invest in the time to learn the art of calling? Probably not, but a fool-proof easy to us...

To prevent further loss of strikers, paint them blaze orange. They will be a lot easier to find.

Re: Have the best
Yes to all three, each generation has had and will have it's best turkey hunters. Turkey hunting has really evolved over the last 50-60 years. Early on, the best turkey hunters were roost shooters and it wasn't considered unethical at the time. It was considered a great feat to sneak up on a gobbler...
