Re: CZ Mallard
Recoil wasn't bad at all. I agree, I think I was just trying to do too much with it. Basically, the bottom barrel is worthless past 25 yds. I'm sure if at some point I shot the wrong barrel I would wrap it around a tree. Ideally, I was going to have a "spreader" load in the bottom barrel, ...

Shot the new mallard today with a Carlsons .585 flush mount up top with Big 20 XL to the tune of 224/10 and 235/20. 2nd shot was similar. In the bottom barrel I ran a Modified and a duplex lead/TSS load at 20 and 40 Yds. 20 looked good, but a tad low although I think I can work with it. At 40 Yds it...

Lookin good, if I wasn't shooting TSS I would for sure be running Fed HWT 7's in the 20. I tried a few 20 Hevi loads and they all sucked compared to the Fed HWT 7.

I have one on my Stoeger M3500 and it has handled 3-1/2" Magblends, Hevi 7's, Longbeards, and 2 oz TSS loads just fine.

Looking for Truglo Magnum Gobbledot sights
I need a set of Truglo Magnum Gobble Dot sights for a 8mm (5/16") vent rib.
I didn't see a Wanted section in the classifieds so I posted this here. Let me know if you have any you would sell.

Re: Well JD, I believe you're gonna eat your words
I've got a cousin back home that uses either the m3000 or m3500 for waterfowl, doves, and occasionally skeet in the back 40. He has nothing bad to say and had had nothing but good performance from it. Is the 20 you are referring to the same gun, M3020? I would like to pick up an inexpensive autoloa...

Maybe she'll get one for Christmas!

Alright, picked up a Mallard finally after debating for about a year on whether or not I really wanted one.
I see Carlsons and Trulock make chokes, what would be a good starting point for the Big 20 XL?
Shoot me a PM if you have any 20 ga Huglu chokes.

Love my Stoygah M3500 and will probably have a 3020 one day. They just came out maybe a little over a year ago so you probably won't find a whole lot about them.

Thinking about going the side by side route with a rib and sights on each barrel. Think that would be too funky?

Anyone hunting with a Mallard? I like the idea of dual triggers on an O/U and think this will be the perfect turkey gun.
1 barrel set up for 40 yds and TSS #9, the other barrel with maybe a full choke and bird shot for 20 yds.

I somehow secured a 200 acre piece of private land yestersay by being the first one to call I guess. Anyways, heard a few this morning but went back this evening and popped one of the 5 longbeards that were courting 6 hens. Rightt before they flew up I finally coaxed them my way. Until this year I w...

If you hunt or have hunted this area, shoot me a PM. I have a couple of questions.
Obviously I don't want your specific spots, just need a little more info.

Re: I need help finding a call that is not raspy
Try a 2 reed with no cuts in the top reed. Thanks for the reply. I believe all of the calls I have are 2 reeds and the only one with a cut is the Will Primos 1 (I think its a batwing). None of the others have any cuts in them but they all sound raspy. Maybe it is just the way I am blowing or someth...

Re: WLB Choke Evaluation now available on line
Thanks for posting the link. Interesting that the Mobil system put up significantly worse numbers than all the rest of the choke systems. Also curious that there was no IC entry for that choke system. Both of my Mobil guns will outshoot anything he had on that sheet. 217 with 3" and 270s with ...

Econoload bird
Finally popped #2 with the Econoload this morning. He was probably about 35 yds or so in a field where my wife keeps her horse.
There was a strutter with him but I had to take the first opportunity I could get as they were headed towards the hens in the field.

Re: Math Check Please.
Math has never been my forte but i think I got this one right. If Tss 8s are 254 per ounce and TSS 9s are 362 per ounce (18g/cc) would Tss 8.5s be approx. 308 per ounce ? Technically that's wrong. It's not a linear relationship due to shot size being based on diameter but pellets per ounce being bas...
