Nope.No new tag. Cause it was an injury. Had it been a disease they would have kept the deer and given me a new tag. Still got I more tag plus a few doe tags too.So I'm ok with that. I still had the priviledge of taking a nice deer.Backstraps would have been nice though.

Oct.1st was opening day of archery here in Michigan.I seen 5 deer ,one buck that was too far and too early to shoot. Enjoy the girls while you can. There will be a lull in a few years and you can get back to hunting. Then it will be weddings to help plan and grandchildren to bounce on your knee.Then its back to hunting .......with the grandkids. Your future looks bright.

Would like for my wife and I to put 5 deer in the freezer this year. Took 3 last year and ran out. Bucks for either of us would be a bonus.

Cook it like a beef steak Mike. Just slap in on the grill and treat it like Porterhouse. Don't over cook it .

Im not aware of a late Jan. hunt Tom. However there is a late Dec. antler less season.
