Re: Questio on this Slam thing
Hey Jay there is no time limit. You fill out their form and send it in with your 15 bucks LOL. I would check their registry on their site for the Rio's. If you see some registered from the county you shot yours I would say you are good to go. If not I would send it anyway. I did and it was accepted....

Re: Grand Slam Pin Pot Calls
Be super nice if you could get another slam and kill one of each subspecie with the respective call. It would give you a great excuse to plan out another slam anyway This was suggested also on another site. I did kill an eastern in Ontario this year while using that call. I am going to NM and Texas...

Grand Slam Pin Pot Calls
I asked Jim from Warbird calls to make up 4 different pot calls that I could mount my gand slam pins in if and when I ever got one. Well I completed my first slam this year so here are the calls with the pins in them. Jim did a great job on the calls. They are all turkey but I am not sure that I wil...

Re: fall hunters?
Thankfully the area I hunt the fall turkey seasons ends the day the rifle deer season opens.
And to answer that Ben Lee guys question I would say that there would have been very good odds that the hen he killed would have had poults in the spring

Re: fall hunters?
I'll be out there. For me fall hunting is just another way to interact with these great game birds. I don't think you can ever hear as much turkey talk and variety of calls as you do in the fall. Some mornings its cool just to sit near the roost and listen to the calling. Plus I have to say theres n...

Re: I hate sewing !!!
Well got it on the form and sewn up. Did I mention I hate sewing. Glued the head in place and attached the tail. Now gotta shoot some caulking and set everything up to dry. Then once the caulk sets do some gooming. It was a little loose on the form but I guess thats better than too tight and having ...

I decided to see if I could full mount another tom. Going for the strutter look. I finished skinning and ta...

I know how some guys feel about registering their slams with the NWTF but I checked their web site yesterday and all 4 of my birds are finally registered for my grand slam. Guess I never have to do that again but glad I did.

Re: Safety Issue with Scoped 835
Interesting. I have the same gun and scope. I have had the gun since the 80's and have had the same scope on it for about 8 years with no problems. I use it with the turkey barrel for turkey and a rifled barrel for deer and it is quick and easy to take the safety on and off. But if was giving issues...

Re: Bacon, Mushroom, Swiss, Stuffed Burgers
That looks awesome. I have done it with ground wild turkey breast and stuffed it with feta cheese. Tommorrow I am going to stuff some wild turkey breasts with a number of ingredients and wrap in a bacon weave then cook in the smoker all day basting ocasionally with a sweet sauce glaze. I hope they c...

Re: Turkey Multi-beard Genetics
Interesting. I have several spots that I hunt and use trail cams. I doubt that there are any gobblers on the properties that I have not seen or gotten pics of. I have several pics of beaded hens. And even had 4 in front of me at one time this year. Yet I have never seen an actual multi-bearded bird ...
