Re: ATI turkey fowl

I have the original, walnut and 21" barrels. I like it, crazy light, shoots good and comes tapped. If the newer ones are the same, it's a KOFS, same as other imports such as the 555's.

Re: barrel length

Look around and you will see that most makers have models with the short barrel. I know Mossburg has pump and autoloaders with 20"-22", Winchester, Weatherby, Escort, and other imports offer short barrels as well. I have an over/under with 21" and love it. I would look for a short bar...

Washington State, if you have never been. It is a state you can kill 3 of the 4 birds for a slam and the views, can be out of this world.

Doing a great job Dave. To me this is how and what Turkey hunting is all about. My son and I have been watching every night when going to bed, now he has started hooting along with you, at the beginning. Keep it rolling.

Re: Inexpensive o/u

I went with the ATI Turkey/Fowl and like it a lot. A few things making me go with it where, it is lighter, it has 21in. barrels(so it's short), and it comes drilled & tap from the factory.

Re: 28 vs 20 ga for first gun

I debated the same issue. I decided based on the availability of factory ammo, to go with the 20ga. I went with the ATI Turkey/Fowl and have been very pleased. I would also suggest it for a youth gun, mine has a shorter length of pull then most guns I held and the short barrels make it easy to handl...

Re: Winchester Long Beaard Shells

Best lead load i've seen, this stuff will react to a choke the way shot should. The tighter you go the tighter the pattern, all size shot do well in all the guns i have tried. Would love to find some of the Rooster XR to shoot in the 20. If they do this with their htl & it works the same, it wil...
