Re: Time for a new truck

Also, I read Nissan is coming out with a new Frontier for 2020. Old style closeouts should be really cheap. I bought a brand new '14 F150 XLT loaded for $27K because everyone was buying the new redesigned '15 instead.

Re: Time for a new truck

One thing to consider is being able to get your truck plus trailer rig where you want to go. One of my favorite camping spots is limited on what you can get up there. And then is the small trailer something you'll actually want to stay in for extended periods? I was all about slide in campers until ...

Re: Time for a new truck

Tundras are too pricy. I thought about trading my 14 f150 in but I really don't like any of the new trucks well enough except the tundra and I can't see paying that much for a pickup truck.

Re: Hunter Numbers - random off season topic

Doesn't make sense to me either. Maybe the higher cost and lesser availability of hunting land? Guided trips have gone up and public land is better known sure to internet. More land is tied up in private tracts with few or no hunters or so some say.

Aren't most Turkey loads about 60-80 ft/lb
I was gonna answer that but I've shot a turkey gun too many times to be able to remember anything. Where am I?

Any published charts which also show the recoil in ft/lbs of energy as a component of shot charge weight, velocity, and shotgun weight?
Sounds like you just volunteered to make one! http://www.omahamarian.org/trap/shotshellenergy.html

Re: $20 red dot from Amazon

I have extremely bad eyesight including astigmatism. Aimpoint dots are pretty starred out at all levels to my eyes. Other dots don't if turned down low enough. That's how I get by with the Burris FF3. Red dots that have filtered dot shapes do not star out with me. Most such dots are the cheap ones. ...

Ford or Toyota, that is it. There are fewer decent travel trailers than trucks. 1/2 ton you're looking at small light stuff like Casita.

That sounds like involving government. Government is not capable of solving this problem. The solution is us with revolvers in our pockets.

The El Paso shooter traveled several hundred miles to get there because, as he stated, he knew he could meet his goal unopposed. Mass shootings happen where shooters think they can find unarmed victims.

Re: Bets on if this lasts through deer season?

Had one running around near home one turkey season. We'd see it driving down the road headed to wherever we turkey hunted. None of my associates had permission to hunt where it was. I expect whomever owned it finally caught it. I never heard of anyone shooting it even though everyone said they wante...

Always admired those Oneidas. I shoot recurve. Shot with a fella for a while who shot an Oneida instinctive. The difference is when he missed there was no point in lookongvfor the arrow, whereas with my recurve it could glance off trees and be ok. I once asked him How he could afford to use up so ma...

Can't say I spent much time on it. The most I've shot that gun over the past several years is to check it before a trip. Shot it yesterday and caught myself trying to disengage the safety at the front of the trigger guard.

Trs25 on Mossberg, rattle fix

I stuck the sight on using an AimTech Rib Rider. The dot is plenty bright. The battery compartment has an impressive spring capture system to hold the battery. I do not care for the way the lens stands proud of the sight body. Anything touches it leaves a mark and you can see it in bright light. Ple...

Re: Sloppy foreend

My first dedicated turkey gun was a Mossberg bought in the mid 90s. It was tight and didn't rattle for over ten seasons. I fixed it by cutting some pieces of adhesive backed felt and putting in the forearm to hold it tight from the barrel. The material was sold as furniture slider. I have seen some ...
