Mr Fox SBE 3 28 gauge
I would imagine most on here have seen this, but the Lowcountry Gamebird Foundation has partnered with Mossy Oak, Benelli, Palmetto State Armory and Rob Roberts, to offer a one of a kind shotgun. There are 1944 tickets being sold with proceeds going to Mossy Oak Gamekeepers Grants and earmarked for ...

Re: Gun case for traveling
We have been using this one for 15 years. It has held up very well, and can transport 4 turkey guns. It can get close to the 50 lb mark with 4, but I like to have a spare for many reasons.

I also use the bird’s eyeball. Everyone’s vision may vary, but to me, when I can clearly discern his eyeball, as opposed to it being part of his head, he is inside 45. Obviously conditions can vary, but its a pretty good rule.

Re: Snake Boots
I got bit by a pretty full grown cottonmouth on the ball of my ankle with Danner snake boots on probably 12-14 years ago. Scared the he’ll out oof me, and the force of the strike is one of the most impressive things I’ve personally witnessed. Turned my ankle black and blue. I hate snake boots and ha...

Re: Back to something Turkey!
I hunt in swamps in SC, so snakes and gators don’t really bother me. What concerned me was getting waaaaay out into that place and not having cell service and needing to compass out. I could handle it, but when you get so far from a road/help, more chips are on the table. Turkeys live there. I feel ...

Re: Back to something Turkey!
I went down from SC 4 years ago. I was super intimidated by the terrain we would find, but I did a ton of research and it paid off. Myself and my partner each came home with 1-3/8” spurred dark winged turkeys. The experience is something that is hard to describe. It is simply a wild place that I tru...

Lonzo is an awesome guy, and I’m sure this is a top notch operation. If a man wants to kill a True Osceola turkey, that man needs to go south of Orlando. If a man is trying to check a box in an arbitrary area set by the NWTF, proceed.

Re: Patience kills turkeys
I have heard from friends that patience will kill them. I’ll never find out. Sitting and waiting on a turkey to come is no fun, and I hunt to have fun. I’d rather bump 5 silent ones on the way to a hot one.

Re: Strutter or Looker ?
When I am on the gun, I shoot the first one I get a shot at in range. I kill all of my birds in woods or roads, so I don't have the luxury of doing a bunch of watching them. My attention is usually turned toward the strutter, just out of habit, but I kill the first one I can kill as soon as I can ki...

Re: Number 1 hunting tip
The two things that I always seem to go back to when I'm struggling (all tips work when you're hot), is to hunt where there are turkeys, and be still and ready. When things aren't going well, we all seem to relax our level of alertness and sharpness. You end up getting caught with your gun out of po...

Re: 2020 Merriam hunt
Western hunts are about weather. The turkeys are more receptive to calling than these Southeastern birds, but weather can be a real challenge. I have done a few "grand slams", but it is such a marketing deal. A wild turkey gobbler will screw a titmouse if it will stand still, so he will da...

If you are OK not shooting a bird past 45 yards, a .410 is all you need.

A group of us went with Grey Bruce Outfitters in Ontario several years ago and had a blast. Plenty of birds in some beautiful country. I would highly recommend them, and I will be going back one day. The fans on those birds are huge https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190624/caba5d92805751bcd4b570cea...

There are plenty of turkeys in that part of the world and a lot of public ground to chase them on. WY gets overlooked as a travel destination because it is a 1 bird state. Good Luck

Re: Osceola Outdoors and Storey Hunts
I cannot speak to Storey hunts, but Mike Tussey at Osceola Outdoors is first class. He is certainly not a guy trying to guide turkey hunts. He is a turkey hunter to the core, as are his guides. If I paid for an Osceola hunt, I'd go with Mike in a heartbeat. His camp is also a great time talking shop...
