Season so far...

Started my season down south in FL on March 7!! Hunted with a good friend down south of Arcadia along the Peace River. Birds were plentiful and I got to watch 3 die before lunch!! Also got to break in the new Billy Buice trumpet along with the m1 20ga! Proved to be a deadly combo http://tapatalk.ima...

What u think this is Rio or merriam?

Sal and I have killed a pile of birds with that copper color in Pure merriam territory.. I have given up giving 2 shits what they are as long as they are dead. Merriam's are not all pure white. Even in historical Merriams country like NM there are color variations. I've killed easterns that have co...

I think that is a fairly accurate statement!! There are a lot of areas throughout the country that this statement applies to

What u think this is Rio or merriam?

I would not be surprised if that turned out to be a Merriams/Rio hybrid, possibly from north-central Nebraska. That's a very safe guess!! http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/16/3cb635ee50adc5fae022e121bcb32343.jpg I hunt along the Platte river system in NE quite often. We've killed birds that r...

It's really impossible to know without knowing the location...with all the restocking efforts that have taken place over the last several decades it's near impossible without knowing location. BUT...if I had to guess...based on the terrain of the background Id say a mountainous merriam from the Midw...

We are looking at striking out and heading that way mid-May. We will be hunting public ground! Wish us luck!! To say that I'm pumped is an understatement!! Tom Kelly turkey school

Well said, it's a damn sport, those that want to make it an exact science are taking the fun out of turkey hunting and don't even know it. I'll stick with factory shells and kill my turkey every year with no problem. Sure it won't be 158 yards away but that isn't turkey hunting, that's turkey shoot...

I would not be sawing on that thing.. 26 makes a nice Everything gun.. Have hunted short barrel guns in the past for turkey and have never seen a situation with a 26 where it was too long.. The only way in which I notice it is when on shoulder in sling it tends to bump into some limbs.. Exactly rig...

11 - 9 12 - 13 13 - 13 Don't let those numbers fool you. I've been very fortunate the last three years to hit the midwest with nothing less than perfect weather conditions...hopefully 2014 will be as kind but with this winter we're having this year....I'm afraid that it may carry on over into Spring...
