Re: New 12 ga

I have an 11-87 SPST & an 11-87 slug gun. Both are 3" but I would expect
the 3 1/2" would be just as reliable. I have not had any issues with either
& would recommend an 11-87.

Re: Blind Suggestions???

I have 2, both Ameristeps. The larger 1 is the Brick House & the smaller, Backwoods. Both go up & take down pretty easily & are roomy enough for an adult & a young un. Wally World has them on sale from time to time. I think I gave $60-70 for the Brick & $50-60 for the other. I have had both for seve...

Duck, Duck, GOOSE……………….Turkey

On the way home Tuesday, I spotted a pair of Mallards in the Brokensword Creek along Bethel Road but they disappeared before I could get any pics. I was prepared today just in case. The lens cap was off, the camera turned on, & the driver’s side window down. As I neared the spot where the creek is n...

Re: Decoys

I had an AVIAN X hen decoy for a couple of years, but it was a POS. It would not hold air and I put all kinds of sealer on it and contacted the company and no luck. I finally tossed it! Kevin I have an AvianX jake & hen I got in 2013. The center spot on the back where the stake tube is fastened cam...

Re: Caldwell Lead Sled concerns?

I have been using a lead sled for at least 10+ years with no issues caused to any scope, rifle, or shotgun. Depending what I am shooting, I use either no weight, 1 25# bag of shot, or 2 bags. My is the original model with a single tube which will not allow me to use it with my AR. I had to make a pi...

If that was snow, I'd say that all those flakes were watchin' the stupor bowl, cause I believe some of those flakes kneeled when the National Anthem was sang!!

I haven't watched any nfl the past 2 years, very little 3 years ago, & haave no plans to watch any at all in the future.

Re: Best way to clean strikers and pot calls

I use the green Scotch Brite pads & always carry a couple of squares.

If the greasy eggs penetrate the call and/or striker, you may have an reversible
problem. Maybe someone has an idea for that?

The round pic of the "gobbler" is actually a bearded hen. I saw the beard & stopped looking until it was pointed out to me.

when I was a teenager I read a hunting magazine and said deer will stand up in a thicket if you were to whistle. that fall I shot a buck that was chasing a doe around a thicket and I whistled, he stood up and looked. I whistled again and I was ready the 2nd time and killed him. Will never forget th...

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

At lunch today, my BIL told me the birds were in the same field as Tuesday only further south. So on the drive home I looked & they were still there. I only got 1 pic that was half ways decent. There were 11 birds. 01.JPG I drove a bit further & saw 2 birds just off the right side of the road. They ...
