Re: Mouth Calls vs Friction Calls and Trumpet style calls

I run mouth calls and trumpets 95% of the time. They hang on a lanyard around my neck, and I go.

When it's raining they are water proof. No other call can mimic the same amount of turkey sounds as a mouth call if a man knows how to run it.

Re: go to diaphragm calls

Over the years I've had many. I had a little cutter call from gooserbat I loved. He gave great information as well. There are a lot of call makers out there. You just have to find what fits you. My favorites are the ones I make for myself. Once I started making my own calls, I could tweak them for m...

Re: OWL AND CROW CALLS

I love a good crow call too.... I've built a few several years ago...Making your own mouth piece and not using a public plastic mouth piece is one hell of a challenge. http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd15/tyrky270/PICT0119sets2008.jpg You shouldn't have made that known. I may put you to work now...

Re: When you polish a gun and

I run a denatured swab between shots. It's always done fine.

After polishing patterns blow out after first shot with cold barrel. I'm gonna try some more dirty and see what happens.

First shot, Haymaker 560, fed 7s old 3v lot ( usually 150 from ssx) clean.........shot a 64 in 10. POI a foot low. Second shot Haymaker 560, fed 6s. 5...

I'm in GA and I'm still seeing gobblers in gobbler groups and hens in hen groups. About normal. This season should be fine.

Re: Tell Me why OR why you dont like your Weatherby SA-08

Had my 20 ga for six years. Lots of dead gobblers in six years. No issues. My trigger has been fine.

The spring has been weak before but only once. I called Sure Cycle and they said they would hook me up if I need a different spring.

Re: Natural Addiction Custom Calls Padauk Aluminum

This is a bare aluminum in a Padauk Pot. I got this call yesterday from Billy / Del and it has moved to the head of the line in my hunting vest. This call sounds better than calls I've paid a hell of a lot more for and the whole surface seems to be a sweet spot. Super low to nails on a chalkboard h...

Re: SA-459 or PA-459 chokes (best options)

I have a regular SA 08. I run a sumtoy 562-5 with fed 7s. Its average is in the 160. I've shot high 180 down to 150 patterns with it. It flat stomps a turkey though....55 yards.....all day long.

This gun also patterns federal 6s in the 120s with a pure gold 570 tempest. It shoots tss 9 in the 280s

Re: Franchi affinity vs sa-08 vs Stoeger 3020 which one?

I'm an SA08 guy. My gun is built based off the old beretta 390 gas system. I've had it six years and killed my limit all but one year with it. I'm running fed 7 and a sum toy 562-5. Killed one with tss 9 last year with it.
