Re: Late Season A-hole
Every turkey is killable. You just have to be there at the right time, and right place.

Apex LT-20 Suggestions
I bought several boxes of this ammunition (2 3/4" at 1 3/8 oz). I will be running it through a Remmy 870 21". Some of the chokes that I currently have are Tightwad, SSX, Carlson's TSS, Sumtoy 562-5, Carlson's Longbeard, Kick's .560, Carlson's .575, and Remington Super Full. Where would you...

Re: Any of ya'll shootin a 270 WSM???
I have been looking at three rifles in the .260 Rem. They are the Savage 16 Long Range Hunter, Savage (10 I think) Predator Max, and the Remington Model 7. I was hoping I could get some of you fellows opinions on those three choices. I also wouldn't mind a Tikka T3 Lite in the 6.5x55, or one of the ...

Re: Any of ya'll shootin a 270 WSM???
I have grown to love the short action rounds. The only thing that has pushed me towards the 6.5 Swede is case capacity, especially when it comes to reloading. Everything I have read, has said that the 6.5x55 would be able to handle heavier bullets better. Another thing is ammo availability. I though...

Re: Any of ya'll shootin a 270 WSM???
From what I have heard from Winchester reps themselves, the advantage gained from the .270 WSM is not as great as the .300 WSM as far as recoil reduction, accuracy, and BC goes. I know I had a Savage 16 weather warrior in .300 WSM and it was bad news, but I traded it in for one of my old favorites. ...

kygobbler, is that for the fall season only? I thought .22 and above caliber was legal too. LOL. But seriously, why would you want to use bigger than #4 shot? JMO.

That is a great buck no doubt and I would shoot him in a heartbeat, but like crenshawco said, that deer will never go 170." A basic 9 point with one drop, I say around 150", at best, by looking at the picture. Like I said, dead in my neck of the woods, but you need to have someone else sco...

Re: Tagged Out in NC
Sorry Spuriosity. There are no turkeys in KY. :) Just kidding. I tagged out yesterday. Both were two year old birds. The weather really has them set back in my opinion. I am not seeing many strutters in the fields. The birds I worked Saturday and Sunday were from 10:30 a.m. on. I killed the first on...

Re: What shell did you use for your best Gobbler?
I killed a gobbler back in 1998 on the last day of our KY season that weighed a little over 22 lbs., 11 3/4" beard, and had 1 5/8" spurs with Win. 3" HV #5s. Killed one at Ft. Campbell back in 2002 with the 10 ga. and Win. Sup. HV #4s that I can't remember the weight, had an 11" ...

Re: Any Opinions? Just Curious...Not being a Smart *
I agree that the patterns from the Longbeard XRs are impressive, as I have posted some of them on OG. The only thing I do not believe is some of the numbers some of the people have been posting on that site (and other sites). I did average about 125-130/10" circle out of the Win. LB XR #4s thro...
