Re: 870 trigger assembly

Yes sir. 23 inch remchoke barrel. Sweet gun for sure. Haven’t shot it yet, but gonna in the near future. I’ve got all the IC constrictions, .610, .615, and .620. Probably gonna try a 8.5x9 duplex to start. Thinking about picking up a shurshot stock and forend to go on it and get it rolling.

Re: 870 trigger assembly

Go hold your breath and wait by the mailbox :thumbleft: :usa: You guys rock! Once I get back from Florida and Mississippi I’ll be getting a list of what else I’m gonna need to finish putting this Sweet 16 870 back in order. I’ll have to buy another set of the Trijicon rifle sights and put on it. Th...

Re: 870 trigger assembly

Check out EBay for the trigger assembly. A lot of times you can find basically new assemblies on there for a decent price.

Re: 870 trigger assembly

Could mean two things on old style. The older trigger assemblies were made from aluminum and not polymer and some in the early 2000s had the j lock safety feature. You can see if it has the j-lock from photos of the side of the safety buttons. I bet it is probably just meaning it is an aluminum hous...

Re: New Turkey Gun Sight- which do you prefer?????

I do like the idea of the green. If they offered a FF3 in green, this would be an easy choice. I’m truly thinking I may try something different and go with the holosun 407c, just hard to stray away from the FF3. They have been very solid for me. Decisions decisions

Re: New Turkey Gun Sight- which do you prefer?????

So for the guys that are using green dot versus red. How is the green in comparison to the red in daylight. I much prefer green in low light based off of experience with fiber optic sights and bow hunting whitetails. Green does sound interesting, but how is it in bright sunlight in fields and such. ...

Re: New Turkey Gun Sight- which do you prefer?????

Ok,
So the Burris definitely has a good following. For those that have used both, does the Fastfire 4 offer much over the 3 in turkey hunting applications. Just curious what you guys think about the 3 versus the 4??

New Turkey Gun Sight- which do you prefer?????

Okay guys, I just recently pulled the trigger on a Mossberg SA-28 tactical turkey recently and am anxiously awaiting it to arrive at the gun shop any day. I am trying to figure out what sight I would like to use on this shotgun and am just asking for opinions on what you guys have used and what you ...

Just to add to this post a little as well, Energizer 1632 batteries fit well in the compartments from my experience as well. I usually change mine every 2 years or so just to be on the safe side.

Re: Remington trigger pull

The Timney kit is very nice, no doubt. The springs do make a difference typically in the 870s. For the money the spring is a good option, but the Timney is the better of the two upgrades if money isn’t an object.

Re: 16 ga Compact 870 weight

I wouldn’t think that the shurshot stock weighs no more than half a pound more than the youth stock personally. Don’t know for sure. They are a very heavy gun for sure. Remington in their infinite wisdom on this shotgun took a 12 gauge barrel blank and just bored a smaller hole in it. Barrel is heav...

Jody Harrison is a solid option as well!!! Goes by Preacherman turkey calls, and he makes a fine sounding and looking box. His snakewood over holly is great, as well as a bloodwood over limba!

Let me know how that fixed modified does when you shoot it. I will be very interested in how it does for you.

I will keep my eyes open for a wingmaster 28 gauge barrel and if see one, I will let you know. That would be the best option if you can find one.

Re: 870 28 ga express

What load you planning on shooting from the 28? If you are set on shooting the heavier payloads, I would try one in the factory barrel before threading. It just might surprise you. I’m sure you won’t win any paper punching contests, but I bet it might hunt.

Re: 870 28 ga express

The express and the wingmaster barrels are both 25 inches. The wingmaster barrel would be ideal if you can find one, as they are factory remchoke threaded. Indian creek makes these 28 gauge remchokes now

Re: 870 28 ga express

Trigger is held in with 2 pins, very easy to do. The barrel will more than likely be very difficult to find since the Remington bankruptcy. I don’t think they make them anymore. Barrel is 25 inches long. FloppingTom, was the 410 you sent an 870 fixed full for threading. If so, how much did he charge...

Gun started off as an express…… Bought a wingmaster trigger group and installed a 3 lb trigger spring. Love the g...

Anybody looking for an Indian Creek 28 gauge remchoke????

Just wanted to pass this info along to the members here. If you have been wanting a 28 gauge remchoke from Indian Creek, they are here!!! I sent off my barrel to Stuart at Indian Creek a while back and he got around to making these chokes. I had him make a .525 and a .520 constriction. Fit is perfec...
