Re: Any one else "Banned" on a forum?

I got banned from OG for selling TSS shot 10 or so years ago. When I signed up again, they banned me again within 24 hours before I even posted. That was it for me, back then it was a bunch of self right bastages.

Re: CZ 628

I had a 628 for 2 years, but sold it about 6 months ago. It always functioned fine, but the root of the problem for me was the comb was high. It kind of has a monte carlo type feel to it. It had beautiful walnut, but it was heavy and with a 28in barrel was slow to point and shoot. I 3D printed a cus...

Re: First bird with a 410

Congratulations!!!I’ve got the same gun but just haven’t got around to hunting with it yet. Did you have choke tubes installed in it? Mine just is full from the maker I am just shooting the full from the factory. Plenty good pattern at 40 yards from factory full. I had 300 in the 20" and just ...

First bird with a 410

Shot a lot of birds with the 28ga 1.5oz load, but just love this yildiz 410 setup that my 11 year old has been hunting with the last couple years. Decided it was time to get a bird with the 410 and committed to this gun for this season. Didn't take long and got this bird with a single shot at 45 pac...

Re: barrel threading

I did this to a Beretta A303 in 20ga. I had Mike Orlen do the work and it was excellent and reasonably priced. He did a thin barrel tru choke as there isn't enough material to do much of anything else. Lots of choke makers make tru chokes, but not nearly as many options as a Beretta style choke and ...

Re: Tristar Cobra II pump .410 choke help

Run the chokes through a 1/4-28 die. Start with the die wide open and then close a little and try again. The problem is the beretta threads are a little too shallow for the tristar choke threads. I did this on my Ber/ben 410 chokes and they fit great in my tristar 410. Hardest part is clamping the c...

Anybody have a 410 3" Reamer

I just picked up an older Ithaca 410 O/U and need to ream the chamber from 2.5 to 3". Anybody have a reamer or know someone that has one that they are willing to rent for a couple days?

Re: 28 ga Super Blackeagle3...

I have shot several hundred paper patterns over the years. I had a 12ga M2 that shot about 10" high. My 28gaUL and 20ga Montefeltro shoot POA and I get close to a 60/40 with them. I think a lot of this has to do with the tall ribs. I couldn't shoot them, but a rib that is flush with the receive...

Re: Mobil threading

Just talked to Steve. Cost for threading is good and he will confirm if the invector will work on a yildiz single shot barrel. If he gives the go ahead, I will try it out and report to everyone how it goes.

Re: Mobil threading

Rose Action...Steve Rose maybe??? We can thread barrels for .410 Invector, but not Mobil or others. Each style/type of choke tubes takes its own specific installation tooling. We've never seen the .410 Mobil tooling anywhere. Has anyone checked with Briley for .410 Mobil installation? They do some ...

Re: Mobil threading

There is not enough material to thread a mobile choke 1/2"-28 on the Yildiz single shot. I tried to call Mike Orlen, but can't get a hold of him, not sure if he is still doing barrels. I would still like to get my barrel threaded. Is there a consensus on where would one go to get that done?

Re: Weatherby element turkey 20ga

The Element is a inertia system based on the benelli and the franchi shotguns. The standard Weatherby SA20 gun is a gas recoil system based on the Beretta AL system which was developed 30+ years ago. In my opinion, the element is more reliable and easier to clean, probably not quite a soft shooting,...

Re: Mobil threading

The mobil choke for a 410 is 1/2x28 thread. Any gunsmith or decent machinist with a lathe could in theory cut the choke. I have a couple 410s with mobil chokes and the chokes are not all interchangeable. I run them through a 1/2-28 die and they are good to go. I have not threaded a barrel myself, bu...

So based on your pic, this is the old stagger feed magazine for a blind magazine. For a short action boyds stock, he needs to order the action screw spacing of 4.275" for stagger feed blind magazine. The newer blind box have the magazine located in the stock and has action screw spacing of 4.4&...

Re: Weak spring Benelli

After about 10,000 rounds through my 20ga monte, I started having a few issues. I just ordered a replacement factory benelli spring for the 20ga monte from Midwayusa. That fixed the issues I was having. The spring is located in a tube that runs down the butt stock. I ended up having to use a torch t...

Re: 28 gauge turkey hunters

Got it. I have shot cylinder choke in the 28ga and it results in a very open pattern with lead and steel shot, the nice thing about TSS is it patterns tight, even with open chokes. If you started with a 1.5oz load of #9s with 536 pellets in it, I think you will still have the 100 pellets at 40 yards...

We need more information to give you a good answer like how big is the load, velocity, what gun and choke configuration. Re: .410 Invector plus reamer and tap rental

Legit questions here. Why not just go with a Beretta/Benelli 410 choke thread? It is a standard 1/2-28 die. What does the 410 invector plus offer that the 1/2-28 doesn't?

Re: Tristar Cobra .410 chokes search

Had the same issue with my Tristar Cobra 410. I ran the ber/ben 410 chokes through a 1/2-28 die which is the thread of both choke sets. That took off just a few thousands on the thread so it now fits my tristar cobra.

Took a couple toms in October and been out another 20 times watching and waiting for the turkeys to be where I can hunt them. Re: Youth Duck and Geese

My boys are using 1/2oz of TSS #9s in their sawed off, cylinder choked, Yildiz TK36. It works great for ecd doves, chukars, ducks, pheasants, and has taken down a few geese as well. My 10 year old shot an Eurasion Dove at 50 yards with it this last weekend.
