Snakewood
Well this is a 1st for me. Had a customer want a Snakewood Trough call, and I was very hesitant about it. Never made anything out of Snakewood before. Well I am pleasantly pleased with the wood. It was very nice to work with. Very heavy dense wood, that Sands out great! Actually I really like...

Re: Howitzer Call
Yea. It's just under 5lbs. The base of that shell is really thick. The inside slopes up to just below those sound holes, where the sides are almost 3/16 thick.
Not sure I want to carry it in the woods.

Howitzer Call
It's been awhile since I've posted here, so thought I'd share a recent custom build I did. Did this one out of a spent 105mm Howitzer Shell fired up at Camp Ripley. Call is to be awarded to the Commanding Officer there this spring on their annual Veteran Hunt. It's suppose to be televised by some hu...

Trough calls
Just finished up another batch of trough calls. Tried something a little different on a couple of them. I added a feather on the back side encapsulated in resin. I think it turned out pretty good. If anyone is interested in trough call. Message me. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191107/72d63358e...

Conditioning stone. I've tried several different mediums, and I prefer the sound from stone conditioned glass the best.

Green Hedge
Took delivery of some Green Hedge the other day. This stuff is pretty rare, and hard to come by. For those who don't know, It's Hedge, or Osage Orange as some call it, that has been buried in the ground for many years. The minerals in the soil leach into the yellow wood and turn it green. Only have ...

Had someone wanting a Viking theme call with reference to Valhalla. So this is what I came up with. Heavy Shot, Heavy 13 Mag Blend. 5,6,&7. It's been by far the best patterning shell thru my gun, using 3 differant chokes. Currently using the Jebbs .655 in my Mossberg 835. Buddy and I cut open a TSS shell yesterday. Was we surprised to find plastic disc shaped pieces in it. He's not using them...
