Re: YouTube red dot sight in

That's the best way to do it as far as I'm concerned. You just have to be sure you keep the gun still as you adjust poa/poi. If you do that, it's practically foolproof.

I usually unbuckle the bottom 2 but leave the chest strap buckled to drop the seat.

Re: Which Lounger Vest

I have no experience with a lounger vest. How do you like the stadium seat function on the impact pro? Definitely more cushion than the original impact vest. Would you recommend the impact pro? This is my first experience with a lounger as well. I like the stadium seat so far. Just shot this a litt...

Re: Which Lounger Vest

Has anyone tried the Alps Impact Pro yet? Not many reviews but it looks a good vest. Yes, I got one in last week. It's ok, but definitely could use some improvements. I'm probably going to make a review video on it being there's nothing decent out there yet. I'll post a link if/when I do. I have no...

I can't speak for the 18.5" barrel but my 21's and 26 all shoot great with a Carlson's .575. I have a .555 Carlson's but have never patterned it.

I highly recommend a Carlson's .575 for an 870!!

Re: Compact guns

Do all of you guys use the short stocks? I like the short barrel but have traded out for standard length stocks. I think followup shots would be more challenging for me with the short LOP. I don't need those too often (probably shouldn't say that), but when I do, I want it to be fluid without much ...

Re: Lonnie Sneed

I have an older one that I'm sure Lonnie Sr. made. It's one of the best sounding slate calls I have. I might have gave $35-$40 for it way back when. It's a good sounding call but not worth $75 if you want my honest opinion. To be fair though, I don't think any pot call I own is worth that based stri...

Re: Blackhorn 209 load suggestions

Update - I finally got a chance to shoot today. I started by getting on paper @ 50ish yds with 2 shots of 70 gr, followed by 3 shots for group with same load @ 95ish yds. I wasn't satisfied with the group so swabbed the barrel and shot 4 more (1 to foul and 3 for group) @ 95ish yds with 72 grs. The ...

Re: Gunsmith to drill and tap WBY Element?

I have 3 870's drilled and tapped and I'm more than happy with em. I also acquired a Meadow Creek mount back in September and can honestly say it's a fine option as well. I own a 12 ga Wby Element and if I wanted a red dot on it I would go with the Meadow Creek. It's your gun, money, and prerogative...

Re: Blackhorn 209 load suggestions

I shoot 70 grains by weight/100 grains by volume w/ a 300 grain Hornady XTP bullet. I experimented extensively w/ both the 240 and 300 grain XTP bullets and evaluated both in 5 grain +/- increments and settled on the previously mentioned loading based upon accuracy, recoil, and cost. I've killed wh...
