Re: It sure goes fast….
Well put. We don’t always see the success in the kills that we hope for, but spring turkey hunting is so much more than killing. I’m on the earlier end of my turkey hunting career. So do me, a lot of the ups are downs are about leading something for the next hunt or the next season. Amongst all of i...

Congratulations Shane. Every story of your I read makes me really want to get out there to try Montana before it gets as crowded as Nebraska is! You always have great scenery and beautiful birds.

That’s great in so many ways. Congratulations!
I can’t get my girls to catch the turkey bug, so working on my boy. Any day in the woods with your kids is good. Even better when they score.

Re: That’s a wrap
I hunted 4 states on about 18 mornings. In the places I hunted that I have been before, I think the population is similar or better than last year based on sign in the woods. I do know that I heard less turkeys gobbling in those same areas. At my deer lease that I do not turkey hunt, two other hunte...

Been out for a while, season recap
Started a new job last fall and got distracted fro The message board. Had a fun deer season with my 6 year old boy. He managed to kill two does and my 11 year old daughter killed her first buck. Great fun in the woods with the kids for sure. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220521/2d5e7908d76b6ef1...

Re: Waterproof boots?
About two weeks into the season, I went back to jungle boots as Wellies are about an inch shorter than the deepest wade I'd have. With jungle boots, the wearer expects to have wet feet, but because they are designed with drain holes, water leaves quickly and drying begins promptly. By the time I go...

Re: March hunting in next few years
Maybe it will spread pressure out once all other seasons open, but in Mid March when only options are Florida, Mississippi, and I guess Texas, I think those states will get crushed for a few weeks. Will make their openers a little less fun and harder to get away from folks.

March hunting in next few years
Sounds like Georgia and Alabama have already made plans to push season openers back. I’m betting Florida and Mississippi are going to get pounded in first few weeks of March even more than most years. Arkansas moved our season back a week this year. Sounds like Oklahoma is pushing their season back ...

Re: Few More Nebraska Pics
I learn more and more about home much I missed for years before I started turkey hunting. I’m sure the Pine Ridge area looked completely different before to 2012 burn. Also, there were way more turkeys in some of the areas I hunt now that I could have hunted long ago. Guess it doesn’t matter too muc...
