Re: Knight TK2000 12ga with TSS 9’s

No - Just stacked it on. Does look a little weird I guess but I no longer think about recoil. Look at the Kill Thread (bird #5). Good picture of it there. The extra length seems to help my aim point.

Re: Knight TK2000 12ga with TSS 9’s

Always glad to see TK post. Been using mine for several years now and managed to add two Florida birds to the kill thread this season. Any discussion on any forum mentions the excessive recoil. I added a slip on pad to mine. Makes me feel better anyway. In 2017 played with some lighter loading but i...

Re: Another New Tick Invasion!!

Are they worse on public land than they are on private?? Let the debate begin!! :angel4: The Land Between the Lakes area in western KY/TN is still the worst tick area I've ever experienced. Remember doing a February crow hunt with trace snow on the ground and picking one off my pants back at the tr...

Re: 22 Rifle sports a new tube

There was a season many years ago when a few of us had a squirrel contest. Ohio limit was four. We would each take four shells. A 581 and a 580 (tube feed) often tied. Excellent rifles. Mine is at least forty if not fifty years old.

Re: 22 Rifle sports a new tube

I like Simmons. Be aware if it is a big game scope you may have parallax problems on close range shots. I made that mistake years ago with my Remington 581. Don't understand "parallax" but I'm sure Google does. My 581 at 25 yards (squirrel range) will put 5 shots in a dime. Good guns. Good luck.

Re: Green Swamp WMA in Florida

Not Green Swamp but same latitude and about 20 miles as the crow flies. Buddy's new 2018 Ford 350 after being struck by lightning on 3/21. Note the tree still smoking. Appears the lightning hit the tree and deflected into the unoccupied truck. Truck parked there since heavy hail was predicted and it...

Re: Have you got a Knight & Hale Gobbler Guide?

All joking aside my last FL season was a puzzle until the final few days when the birds finally went into that strut zone to strut zone pattern described in the Gobbler Guide. Glad to hear K and H were at the convention. They are both now "old geezers".

Good luck. The new American Hunter is pretty good. You'll enjoy the hunting Cape Buffalo with muzzleloaders story.

Re: How was your season?

Was lucky in that I had as much free time as needed to really wear myself out. Kept a log and hunted 10 actual days (plenty of other scouting days prior to the opener). Took a bird on hunt day #5 then ended the season on hunt day #10 with bird #2. Never had a good feel for what stage the gobblers we...

With Reaping or , fanning, Mechanical decoys now illegal here, what's your thoughts on this sweatshirt and would it be considered mechanical or just attire? 32468689_1808467802792502_1564629377314979840_o.jpg I would love to wear that shirt to our NWTF banquet next January. Love the 86. Dove hunt occasionally with a 89er. I use the Walker 4 Mic muffs. A pain sometimes but the best I've found so far.

Re: WaffleHouse Tour

The waitresses are graded on a scale of 1-10 based on the number of teeth they have. The "waitresses" that work at my 3am pre-turkey hunt Waffle House are two very large black gentlemen that can handle the "after the bars close" crowds without much trouble or comment. Since this Waffle House is wit...

Re: Done in Ohio

Good chance those few OH counties in the North zone may have an excellent final two weeks. For quite a while some in OH were pushing for an earlier start to the season. If that had taken place the southern zones could have opened with traces of snow on the ground. Funny season in several states. Con...
