Good luck. The new American Hunter is pretty good. You'll enjoy the hunting Cape Buffalo with muzzleloaders story.

Re: How was your season?

Was lucky in that I had as much free time as needed to really wear myself out. Kept a log and hunted 10 actual days (plenty of other scouting days prior to the opener). Took a bird on hunt day #5 then ended the season on hunt day #10 with bird #2. Never had a good feel for what stage the gobblers we...

Re: Thoughts?

With Reaping or , fanning, Mechanical decoys now illegal here, what's your thoughts on this sweatshirt and would it be considered mechanical or just attire? 32468689_1808467802792502_1564629377314979840_o.jpg I would love to wear that shirt to our NWTF banquet next January. Just curious as to where...

Nice going. Rumor is that the PA birds are on Weight Watchers. How was the fall mast crop?

Love the 86. Dove hunt occasionally with a 89er. I use the Walker 4 Mic muffs. A pain sometimes but the best I've found so far.

Re: WaffleHouse Tour

The waitresses are graded on a scale of 1-10 based on the number of teeth they have. The "waitresses" that work at my 3am pre-turkey hunt Waffle House are two very large black gentlemen that can handle the "after the bars close" crowds without much trouble or comment. Since this Waffle House is wit...

Good luck. You'l make him pay eventually. I sure hope you're right, Thx. Have you or will you make it up this spring? Doubtful - my lifelong hunting buddy sold his Meigs County land and moved "to town". From now on my OH excursion may be over. Looking at some spots in the Daniel Boone NF (Ky) for l...

Re: Done in Ohio

Good chance those few OH counties in the North zone may have an excellent final two weeks. For quite a while some in OH were pushing for an earlier start to the season. If that had taken place the southern zones could have opened with traces of snow on the ground. Funny season in several states. Con...

Re: Florida Bird - Finally (long story)

:D I can't believe Funky works. Congrats on the bird. The Funky Chicken can be a puzzle. In my experience It is always ignored by hens. It is often totally ignored by a single gobbler. In the three years I have occasionally used Funky it has never ever been ignored by multiple gobblers or...

Re: Don't tell anyone

That's an obvious problem. I hunt private land in a State that allows rifles for private land gobblers. If I'm going to shoot a 100 yard bird it will be with something a lot more economical than a $10.00 shotgun shell. Btw - I frequent both this forum and that "other forum". Enjoy them both and see ...

Florida Bird - Finally (long story)

Funky Victim 2018_resized (1).JPG I've been keeping a log this year just to keep my stories straight  . We only hunt the zone that opened on 3/17. On that day we had two jakes breeding our decoys for about an hour. Later we did see some longbeards but that didn't come together for us. The jak...

Kellys 3-17-18.jpg You learned a lot in just one trip (especially not mentioning the specific WMA - Florida forum guys would have put a hit on you if you had) . It has been a funny Florida season so far for us. Our first day (3-17) found light gobbling but these two jakes (pic #1) slipping in and s...

Re: Cell phones and how much I hate it...

Looked at several satellite rescue units also. They are subject into themselves with highly varied prices. A few weeks ago Cabelas had close out prices on some older discontinued DeLome units. I'm still hoping to do a western hunt and I'll be alone with no cell system available (I'm told) so since I...
