Cool Wood - Ringed Gidgee
Here are some Ringed Gidgee blanks, pretty cool wood that should make some awesome trumpets. I am quite intrigued by this stuff as its density/hardness is up there with Genuine Lignum Vitae.....and it is beautiful to boot.

Re: Turning my own strikers
Not sure what you are starting with so here is what came to mind.....A way to cut the wood (table saw or band saw), A lathe, appropriate chucks/centers, some lathe tools/chisels, sandpaper and finish.

Genuine Lignum Vitae
I haven't turned a Genuine Lignum Vitae in many months, so on a whim this morning I decided it was time to build another one. This one turned out to be a cool piece of LV with the dark and light transition areas.....good grain as well for Lignum Vitae. I do love a Lignum Vitae trumpet, they have a s...

100% public for me, I actually prefer the larger pieces of land, in select areas I can walk for hours and not see anyone.

Re: Mark Sharpe Cane Call (Amazed)
I've got 2 of Mark's wingbone's that I really like. I did buy one of his bamboo yelper's at Unicoi which is similar to the cane call.....really getting to know it now, has a very unique tone that I think is going to trick some birds. Don't think Mark makes too may bamboo calls so pretty cool to me.
