I applied Mossy Oak Skins wrap to a SA-28 an while it looked good, it was very slick feely. I added this rubberized grip tape in hand locations and I like it.

When had had issues mounting a red dot (Venom) I have used one of these shims and it took care of the problem.

If it were me loading 1.25oz, I would consider trying 9.5 size shot to increase my pellet count. With the lighter load you may gaining enough velocity to offset the step down in shot size.

Re: 28 Gauge Choke Suggestions?
Just as a reference, here’s a pick of my Stevens 555 with a .552 skeet at 15 yards with 1.5oz of 9s. This is my bottom barrel and you can see it’s low as I have the red dot sighted in with the top barrel wearing an Indian Creek .520. I too elected to shoot 10s in this open barrel but don’t have a pi...

Re: Thermal scopes
Most thermal weapon sights are designed to work best on an AR platform due to eye relief issues. If you want to use on a bolt gun you need to be mindful of this issue. There are options like extended pic rails that can be use to mount the sight with the proper eye relief but that will likely cause c...

I don't know what it is but here is a tip...download the app iNaturalist on your phone. It will allow you to upload a picture and ask for an identification of a plant or animal. There are hundreds of botanist and horticultural type folks that monitor the app and provide possible answers then you can...

Just a thought but have you ever considered using the feathers to make a wreath? I have done 6 or 7 over the years for myself and friends. It's really not that hard. I can describe if you are interested. Here's a couple of pics of the one I have above my fireplace. If I am remembering correctly, I u...

Tetra Turkey AmpPods - any reviews?
Did anyone give these a try? Just curious of how a turkey hunter would rate them. I have tried several other brands but haven't found any of them I love. My best bet so far has been carrying a youngster and making sure he/she understands to tell me every time they hear one sound off. Paying the pric...

Check out this DIY video. Cheap and easy. I did it on one shotgun for the exact same reason you are facing. It was easy and works well.

Midland Backpack trigger
Helped a buddy set up a Midland 20ga single shot for his turkey gun. The trigger pull is 7.25lbs. Would like it closer to 3.5lbs. Has anyone sent this specific weapon to a gunsmith for trigger work? If so, who did you use and what was the outcome? Thanks

I would look hard at a Beretta A400 Lite 20ga. Under 6lbs and the "Kick Off" recoil reduction system is a very nice bonus.

Re: Help me pick a Small Bore O/U
Look at a Savage/Stevens 555 Compact. I just got one in 28ga a couple of months ago. Sent the barrels to Sumtoy for a base, then added a Venom. This is the first o/u I have ever owned but I have already fallen in love with it. It is one of the few o/u you will find with 24” barrels and choke tubes. ...
