Re: Ithaca Model 66 .410 w/TSS

Haven't seen an issue with my Mossy or Rem 410's but haven't shot TSS out of my Lefever as I believe it's pre 1920. If you stay with 9.5's or 10's I would imagine you'll be fine.

Get yourself a Savage 220A (no hammer to cock). Got mine off of Gunbroker for $200 but had a little work done to it.

Re: 2018 New York Spring Turkey Season

Very little action in Erie & Wyoming counties. Saw many coyotes and 1 huge fisher in Erie county. Haven't made it down to my Cattaraugus county property yet. Any one else heard of fishers possibly killing turkeys on the roost?

Re: Looking for some help....

Where in NY are you planning to hunt? There are many areas of NY that have a lot of state land but a lot of hunters too. Don't let SwampDrummin fool you, NYer's have been killing turkeys since reintroduced in the 1970's. We have a two bird (I a day) limit in the spring and now a 1 bird fall limit. I...

Re: Turkey populations in your area

Definitely decreasing in western NY. The hay days were the late 80's, throughout the 90's and into the early 2000's. I received calls today of guys putting on 50-100 miles scouting and not seeing a bird (our season starts May 1st). I would have 8-10 birds spotted prior to opening day during the hay ...

Here's a 20 gauge slug gun buck. The gun is in the back ground but I'm holding my father's Savage that my son was carrying.

Re: Rem SF Hevishot choke

I have the 'lead only' version and mine mics at .572. It shoots HW 7's in the 150, Hevi 7's in the 180's and Nitro 7's low 200's but my forcing cone was lengthened and Nitro states not to on their web site. I think my next move is TSS.
