Bet yer' gonna have a population explosion next year  You may change your mind and do "selective: culling ;) Back when we moved here I awoke one morning at daybreak and heard the most awful squalling in my back yard. Re: Time for a new truck

If you want a good used truck or even more so a new one.... you have to get thru the sticker shock first thing. Now that only applies if your buying! If your trading in or selling then YOUR TRUCK ain't worth much. :? :angryfire: I read that with new 2020 models coming out it is now possible to spen...

Re: Time for a new truck

Tundras are too pricy. I thought about trading my 14 f150 in but I really don't like any of the new trucks well enough except the tundra and I can't see paying that much for a pickup truck. Shoot .. like I said all along the trucks got too big fer' me .. heck my new 19 XL Ford Ranger 4x4 off road, ...

Re: Time for a new truck

Since the wife and I retired we have been talking about finding a travel trailer and seeing the country. I have been looking for a lightly used Ford f150 XLT with their max tow package and 3.5 ecoboost v6. Not finding to many around where I live or even on line. Ran across a pretty good deal on a R...

Re: Help A brother Out.

Ok guys I am at my wits end here. My Mom,97 years old is constantly asking me where she can get a salt cured country smoked ham. We used to get them in Tennessee whenever we went down home to visit family. The last one I bought was during a hunting trip to Kentucky. It was at the Piggly Wiggly. Any...

Thanks guys. They are pricey. Mom would usually boil some of the saltiness out. may just look for a cured country ham without all the salt
I guess I didn't know any true country hams weren't salt cured?? :?

Re: Help A brother Out.

With vacuum packing and the invention of refrigeration salt is no longer needed for a cure which was basically a preservative back in it's day, hell bacon in the late 1800 didn't even need to be kept cool and it wouldn't go bad for months. But I will take the better flavor now over that salty crap ...

Re: Foot problems

My regular Doctor couldn't see me for 9 days, so I went to the Doc in the Box less than a mile from my regular doctor's office. They prescribed Indomethacin, which made the pain & swelling vanish in a few days. The full course of meds runs two weeks, but I can barely tell I had trouble in the 4 day...

Re: I Give Up!!

I have eaten a lot of roasted Canada goose, plucked not skinned and stuffed and slow roasted. My mother was an outstanding cook and she roasted great ducks too. She always said you have to completely remove the tails so none of the oil from the oil glands in the tail (she called it the popes nose) ...

Re: I Give Up!!

My Grandma had a great recipe for goose. You prepare the goose for baking by rubbing oil on the skin and seasoning inside and out. Put desired stuffing in the breast cavity. Preheat the oven to 325. You then put the bird in an oversized roaster pan. Once the bird is in place (on its back), and this...
