Re: Browning 10ga Gold.

Shooter; I must correct myself. My 1st Browning Gold 10ga has a 24" barrel, not a 26". The 2nd one has a 28" barrel. It is the 24" barrel that is my favorite. Although a 26" would be a nice compromise. Perhaps one day???????.....

Shooter; Sounds like your Gold is the same model as my 1st one. I prefer the 26" bbl.

Browning 10ga Gold.

Walked into a gun store in Yuma, AZ today and ...... On the used gun rack(consignment) was a Browning Gold 10ga semi auto shotgun. Black synthetic stock, steel receiver. The barrel length is 28". It comes with a Briley mod choke. Been kinda looking for that model for about 6+ years. I have the twin ...

Re: Curious...

I load .410 rounds with a powder scale and a 3/8"" by 6" wooden dowel. I buy my cheddite hulls already primed. I scale the powder and put it in the case. I use the wooden dowel to seat the wad/wads, add the shot and then roll crimp. I purchased the roll crimper from BPI. I have marked my wooden dowe...

Re: 10 ga with Tss

I use my Browning Gold 10ga(steel frame) for coyotes. I am not a turkey hunter. My favorite lead load was 2.25oz nickel plated BB over 38.0gr/Blue Dot. Killed DEAD out to 65 yds. ANY ANGLE. Currently using 2oz #4TSS over 38.0/Steel. This is a BP printed load for steel shot. I just substituted TSS an...

Predator Calling

Finally got out to do some calling this afternoon. Beautiful day and a beautiful sunset. Made four stands, but no responders. Really want to try the 28ga 1oz load of #6TSS. Perhaps next outing.... Carl L.

Re: Got 1 coyote and a short Gray Fox Video!

When I started calling in FL in 64 the Gray Fox was the most common predator. In 3 years I only called in one red. Anyway, they normally came in on a fast run, did 2 sniffs/looks, and left the same way. Good to see they still have the same M.O. Great photo coverage Bob. All I have are a bunch of pic...

Re: 10ga & #4TSS

Just arrived in the SoEast CA area three weeks ago. Family camping during Thanksgiving week. Now the Christmas season, then one more week family camping over the New Years. In short, have not done anything other than shoot a few rounds of skeet so far. I normally do not really start getting on the y...

#9TSS & Pheasant

Had a fun morning Thurs. Working pheasant with a pointing dog. Flushed four, four shots, four pheasant. Beretta 687 SP3 28ga O/U, Cyl/IC chokes. Only used the Cyl bb. 3/4oz #9TSS. (Used Hal's load data) Shots were in the 15 to 22 yard range. The cyl choke barrel was throwing a 88% pattern in a 20" c...

Re: TSS for large canada geese

Being new to the TSS game, I am still trying to force my mind into accepting the phenomenal performance of the small TSS shot. So, although I am now hunting with TSS shot, I tend to still use larger size shot. As I gain experience I WILL "downsize" my pellets. On the talent side.....I doubt if I cou...

Re: TSS for large canada geese

I have a bunch of 2oz 10ga loads of #6TSS for coyotes. I would probably use these for geese also. Keep my life simple. The weight of the 10ga shotgun would also help any swing follow through.....although follow through would not be needed for standing. Carl L.

Re: 28ga win AA hs hull and claybuster wads load data???

Chris; This is a published load for 28ga: Win 28ga hull, CB-5034-28HSB wad, 15.5gr/Longshot . Velocity: 1250FPS, 11,100PSI. I load with 15.0/Longshot for 1200fps. Same CB wad, Win hull & Win 209 primer. I was using this load for skeet and such. Last year, for convenience sake, I started loading 3/4o...

This is the only choke I have in the U.P. with me. I have a couple of other chokes in southern CA at the "other place". Don't even remember what degree of choke they are. Right now I am VERY happy that the patterns are as good as they are. Whooopppeeeee!!!!. Carl L.

10ga & #4TSS

At 50yards : 145 pellets in the 30" circle(80%) and 55 pellets in the 10" circl...

10ga chokes for 2oz TSS loads

I have a Browning Gold(steel receiver) 10ga auto. For the last 25+ years I have been using 2 1/4oz of high antimony nickel plated BB. Choke is a Browning extra full TURKEY, which measures .725 at muzzle and .775 at the threaded end. Overall length is 3". As I do some predator calling in CA I need to...
