Re: Decoy or no decoy
Anyone set up on a field with no decoys? Havent tried it myself but Im guessing you need to sit back from the edge a good 20yrds or so. I hunt a lot a fields every year, no decoys. I’m not talking about a one acre or less green spot, but big fields. I usually set-up on the shady side of a field whi...

Re: Bird numbers
Northern Missouri was weird for me this year, so it's hard for me to judge. Nesting seemed to be running behind, so toms stayed bunched up well into the last week of the season. I would hunt one farm and find one of these bunches and swear the population had recovered. And then the next day, hunt an...

Agreed. If it's been raining (or going to rain), park your vehicle where the gravel ends and walk. That mud is bad stuff.

Re: Covid question?
I taught an exercise class one morning and felt a little sluggish. The test kits that we had at home were about to expire, so I gave one a try after I got back. It was positive. The people closest to me in that class got sick the next week. Oops. :( You take any ivermectin? I just took some more to...

LOL! My son and I have our guns set up like that, too. I got my 8moa on sale, and I actually think I like it better, though.

LOL! That mud is no joke. My truck got stuck on a FLAT road after a rainstorm a few years ago, and I had to just camp out in it until the next day when the road dried.

Re: most comfortable warm weather rubber boots
Tingleys have been my goto for several years and probably the lightest available. Buy a size larger than normal and use good aftermarket insoles for max benefits. They are pretty much the same material as crocs. https://www.tingleyrubber.com/products/airgo-ultra-lightweight-boot-1 My son has worn T...

Re: Covid question?
With each new circulating variant, there's potential for partial or complete evasion of existing immunity, either by vaccination, previous infection, or both. This has been evident with the Omicron variants. And as far as vaccinations go, the only breakthrough cases I've heard of from family and fri...

I've always been partial to the Savage 110 models. I think they're still available with wooden stocks, but those versions have shot up in price in recent years.

Re: Anyone deer hunting?
That's a dandy! The youngsters have dropped quite a few big bucks in Iowa this year, so far. We didn't have any luck, though. All Gus got during youth season was new allergies. We had a few yearlings in range, but no bucks. He says deer hunting sucks and would much rather hunt turkeys. LOL! I agree.
