Re: YouTube red dot sight in
Excellent video of the "One Shot Zero" technique. I prefer setting up for 40 rather than 30, but their point is made. Dave Owen has a video but this one is better because Dave takes the gun off the stand to make "click" adjustments. Gil I feel ya, I've just always thought it was...

Re: .555 over restricting tss??????
I've personally only ever seen 1 gun overchoked at .555. And it's an M2 with a short cut off barrel. Anything below .570 and it throws pellets to the extremes of a 40x30" paper... lots of 'em.
Every other gun I've shot seems to get tighter and tighter the more it's choked with TSS

Oh yes absolutely, but them Tristars are just on another level for ease.
I texted Garrett at Tristar last night, he told me they're basically the Raptor barrels, so I'm going to give one a shot.

Tristar Cobra
I have literally never seen these Tristar pump guns mentioned. While I doubt they do anything an 870 can't do, I wonder how well they shoot? If they shoot anything like the Raptor and Vipers then they would be worth having. Has anyone ever seen pattern pics from these things?

Re: Sitka Turkey Tool Belt
I've considered the vest but couldn't get past the cost after looking at what l was actually purchasing. No way I'm spending $230 on an old fashioned fanny pack. Sitka needs someone else giving them advice if they plan to appeal to a wider swath of turkey hunters, but maybe that's just me. I use so...

Re: Sitka Turkey Tool Belt
Not to derail the thread but have any of you guys who used the Sitka turkey vest had issues with the magnets causing issues with you onx or similar apps maps? Not really sure the Turkey belt is what I want. Hard to justify the price of a cabelas speed seat I already have. Could be 3ish speed seats ...

You sure they're doing it in Truchoke and not Winchoke/Invector?Turkinator wrote: ↑January 31st, 2024, 4:40 pm I’m going to need an Indian creek.555 with Truchoke threads. Re: Meadow Creek Mounts
Bumping with a question. Anyone see a “problem” with taking a meadow creek mount on and off? I bought a gun to setup for turkeys and I’ve having a ton of trouble with it. Long story short, I considered setting up a sbe3 I have with a meadow creek. Even considered just using that gun but I don’t wan...

The Gaylord is expensive, but you can’t beat the convenience of staying there. No need to pay for parking, plenty of restaurants, bring breakfast/lunch with you to eat in the room, hang out all evening listening to music and taking with other hunters and then head to bed when you want. Just my opin...

Re: Meadow Creek Mounts
Hey guys, I wanted to ask. How many guys use these and like them? Anyone not like the? Long story short I wanted to change up my Turkey setups. So I went with a Mossberg 500 in .410. And then a Franchi affinity 3 in 20 gauge. The Franchi is currently on its way back to franchi for cycling issues an...

Just found out that Warne makes a rib mount for red dots. Haven't used it, but have used Warne rings, their stuff is some of the very best. Looking hard at one of these rib mounts for a 14" Contender barrel with vent rib. I grabbed one to see how it mounts... I'll refrain from commenting

Re: Optic mounting on the Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 20ga ?
One of my local guys with a 20ga SBE III stopped in and let me have an observation. The top cover had enough movement (when installed on the gun) that I would be concerned with eventual loss of zero with an optic mounted on the cover. The tightness, or lack thereof, of the top cover fitting may var...
